Good morning anglers,
Just a quick heads up. Spoke with Marsha at Duffy's Marina and she confirmed our Sat. June 4, 2016.
Boat Launch Fee is $12.00 cash to place in the envelope.

For anyone who hasn't fished the Sass with us before....
When you launch your boat, idle out of the Marina and we all hang out at the Marina entrance before launch. The ramp area is tight once in the water so everyone hanging out around the ramp is not an option.
Also, there are folks who are sleeping on their boats at the time of launching so we try to keep it down as much as possible.
See everyone there! |

Dont forget about the 9 miles of no wake after you leave the marina.

Anybody remember what exactly is the no wake zone? Is it past the first creek? |

I believe it is the first creek on the right side
Hopefully they have a marker this year.

Typically, there are white marker buoys positioned at the start and end of these areas.
Since this Tournament will be after the start of Memorial Day weekend, be mindful of the Marine Police\aux. coast guard watching for boats going faster than should be.
This place is a little weird and unlike most tidal bodies of water in that sometimes the no wake zones are not clearly marked and anglers therefore find themselves in a precarious position.

Sassafras River launching out of Duffy's Marina x Map and Google Directions to Boat Ramp
Duffy Creek Marina
20 Duffy Creek Road

telephone: 410-275-2141 / fax: 410-275-0096

[b]Note: I have included both launching ramps. Points#1 Through Point#5 are for the Paid Ramp.
Once on the water, it seems to be a little distance from both launching areas. You guys are going to have to decide what's ideal for the number of anglers planning on attending and where the weigh in process is going to happen. I spoke with Duffy's Marina Care taker and gave her my POC information. I gave her a rough estimate of 10-12 boats.

Rob,
No doubt. I'll be there. I just wanted to post "OUR" launch area for the newer members or those unfamiliar with the layout.
Note: When parking and for those not leaving early, we can block each other in since it will only be us in this parking lot area. Park as close\tight as one can.
Looking forward to getting back out on the water....especially in those known spots. LOL!!!

Did some preliminary scouting of the mighty Sassafras today. The no wake zone is up. It runs from the marina, out past the first creek by about 200 yards. So, it is quite a long ways. As for the fishing, the upper Chesapeake bay bass are still elusive for me. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend everyone |
