Brrrrrrrrr.

Welcome back to SJHT 4th installment 2016 SJHT Bass Club Season.

i39.photobucket.com/albums/e159/BigNasty06/2016%20SJHT%20CLUB%20PHOTOS/20160410_063153_zpsspofgvrl.jpg

Another great turnout after a snowy\sleat filled Saturday and temperatures dropping below the freeing mark.

Today, [b]SJHT had 12 members
on a day most wished they stayed in bed and ate Blue-Berry Pancakes. "Insert name here". LOL

Today's Rainbow Lake Club Tournament was another life experiencing moment from the perspective as who could yell uncle the loudest without throwing in the towel. How often do we get snow in Mid-April and freezing temps as we had this morning. The combination of Cold front and cold breeze made us re-think why we do what we do week after week.

I have the answer, We're passionate not only in competing but super crazy trying to explain it away to those who make jokes\ride by the lake and snicker like, "Look at those die-hard guys on the water". They're nuts.

So that leads me to say, we have some of the most dedicated anglers in SJHT and although the catch results don't necessarily show it, we hang till the end.

Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Mike "Every Squirrel has his day" White for taking 1st place with 3 Bass weighing 6.23lbs. 2nd Place was won by Rob *Always catching a Trailer flat* M. with 1 Bass weighing 4.56lbs. . 3rd Place was won by Jackson with 2 Bass weighing 3.58lbs. Lunker was won by Brian *SubFish* M. going 2.48lbs. This edged out Rob by .06lbs. Congrats men. Our Pickeral Pot was won by Jackson going 2.74lbs. Way to work hard for those fish.

Summary: Rainbow Lake and the frigid early morning temps almost got the best of us. I know some probably wanted to stay in bed and just chaulk this up as another No-Go! but there's no quit in the SJHT anglers. The frozen Guides and freezing lines didn't last too long but I will say the Osprey's diving into the lake in search of food was pretty cool. At last count, they still had more bass than I did for the season. LOL!!!

There were a total of [b]13 Bass
weighed in totalling a whopping 24.51lbs. That gave way to a 1.89lb avg. catch. There was 1 Limit caught. [b]7 out of 12 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 4 anglers that caught at least 2 Bass.

All in All, things are starting to look up for some. The sun did eventually pop through the clouds and warmed the lake up some. As we entered the NJ Bass Closed season, fishing down in Delaware and Maryland typically heat things up for us.

Thanks to all for coming out.

Next up is LUMS Pond next Saturday.

Hope to see those all there :->

Congrats Mike. I'm sure you worked hard for those 3 fish. Congrats Rob on 2nd and Jackson keeping the pickeral pot going. LOL. I saw Brian subfish catch that lunker in the first ten minutes or so and then saw Basshopper catch one of his fish around 930. I just got so cold I couldn't stand it. Must be getting old. Hopefully next week is better.

Congrats Mike ,Rob and Jackson for winning the cash way to get the fish in your boats lol. If I start catching a few more fish maybe I will get some practice netting some fish haha

ram1212
Thanks fellas. I was clueless out there until the Ospreys started hammering the fish. I moved closer to them and as I got there I caught my two about 15 minutes apart.

Congrats on the win Mike!

My other T got cancelled Den. Congrats Mike and Rob. Rob I saw you crack up laughing when I think the Osprey dropped a fish into the water a few feet from you. I got distracted by super aggressive perch that I chased around most the day lol.

Haha, yup, I must admit I got quite a kick out of it. The two of them fighting in mid-air and then the force that fish hit the water with...don't know why but I thought the whole sequence was hysterical. What's amazing is I never saw a floating a fish so it must have some how swam off after that drop.

Thanks guys, its funny the way things happen, i had a really bad morning that started with frozen solid hatches, to backlashes to frozen fingers, to a reel breaking, to losing on of my favorite baits, but hey, i guess things work themselves out, all those big females were just hugging the bottom laughing at us, they ate before the front came through on saturday

I caught my first ever carp on Sunday, snagged in the back, i thought it was a giant bass, scary monent lol

How many flats do U get?? looney u gotta order urself some radials, those trailer shop tires don't hold up to highway wear and tear, especially u driving so damn far lol. I have the Carlisle radial trails seem good but I've only had for a year. Maxis made a set that were the best rating but good luck finding them in stock. Goodyear marathons Used to be good but they went to China and now suck apparently. Stupid China

Dude, tell me about it. No idea what I'm doing all though when I left Rainbow on Sunday the trailer took a nice bump when i pulled out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already bought a new tire, but the next time I will have to try out the radials.
