Where has the 2015 Regular season Gone?

Nothing like venturing out of state and taking in the scenes.

and even giving up some good spots......LOL!!!

On Sat. August 29, SJHT concluded there regular 2015 season down on the flats. However with the good, one must take the bad.
See image below.... Rob's blown tire as he crossed the Delaware memorial Bridge.

Can you say thread malfunction.....

The Solution.... Thank you Dan *Crappie Jon* F.

So as one can see how the early morning start went, we can count our blessings that in the end all was well and no major damage\accident occurred.
This marked our 16th event of the season.
and 12 of SJHT finest anglers came out to see if Mobey Dick was still out there from the Elite Anglers Tournament.
Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Dan *Crappie Jon* F for taking 1st place with 3 Bass weighing 5.64lbs. 2nd Place & Lunker was won by Jackson *Hear Me Roar* Fu. with 1 Bass weighing 3.82lbs. 3rd Place was won by Brian *SubFish* M. with 3 Smallie Bass weighing 3.63lbs. Congrats men. Way to work hard for those fish and end the regular season very strong.
NorthEast River Tale of Tape:

1st Place winner Dan *Crappie Jon* 5.64lbs bag

2nd Place Jackson *Silent Assasin* Fu. 3.82lbs bag

3rd Place and Lunker winner Brian *SubFish* M. 3.63lb bag

Notable anglers and scenery:

Jiggen Den assisting at weight in:

Rob's Catch before heading to get tire fixed at Walmart.

Summary: The NorthEast River proved very tough to fish on Saturday, hence the late report update and pics. It literally kick my arse physically, mentally, and even gave me a case of insomnia early Sunday morning. LOL. Anglers reported earlier bites when the the tide was High, however as the Full moon and the High sun took a beating on us, Anglers were running mainly in the NorthEast area and getting small bites. Thinking outside the box and see how the bait fish were being chased in an Old Marina area, I put on a Koppers Black\Gold popper frog. After slowing rolling in over some pads and muck on the surface of the water, a huge bass swirled on it and like a rookie, I pulled it from it's mouth. But that at least shown that were under the surface and just needed some coaxing. LOL!!
There were a total of 13 Bass weighed in totalling 23.67lbs. That gave way to a 1.82lb avg. catch. There were 2 Limits caught. Brian *SubFish* caught 3 beautiful Smallies. 8 out of 12 anglers caught at least 1 Bass.
All in All, the weather was again excellent and most anglers were having a tough go at getting bit.
A Big Shout also goes to this years SJHT 2015 Angler of the Year Jackson Fu! Jackson pretty much re-wrote the records books with number of Bass caught, overall Total Weight, Lunker Record, and finishing in the Top 3 for a record year. A full recap will be forthcoming as we prepare for our 2 day Classic to be held at Stewart Lake and Carnegie Lake in 3 Weeks.
As said earlier, where has the season gone?
Hope to see those Qualifiers in 3 weeks at our Finale Classic event.
Tightlines,
BN06

Congrats Dan, Jackson & Brian!
Jackson, One hell of year! Congrats on another AOY.
My tire blew out at the very top of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. I wasn't stopping on the bridge and by the time I got through the toll, that what was left of my tire....Thanks to everyone who pulled over to help out in the AM. A big thanks to Dan who helped out getting the tire changed, provided the spare and then crawled to ramp behind me to make sure nothing else went wrong. I really can't thank you enough for the help Dan, thanks again.
Thanks everybody for a great season. I have said before and I will say it again, I look forward to our weekly gatherings more than anything else during the summer and am extremely happy to be a part of such a great group. See you guys in a couple weeks. |

Congrats Dan, Jackson and Brian M. on the N.E. Hell of a year Jackson again on winning Angler of the year! Congrats Rob on taking 2nd place, and Kyle in third. Glad everything worked out for you Rob with your tire. And Dan you must be SJHT guardian Angel always there to lend a helping hand. My day was very tiring running here and there with nothing to show for, unless you want to count a 4 inch white perch. That was not the end of a bad day. While driving home on 95 about 2-3 miles before the traffic starts to jam up, I hear this loud boom! I look back, my trailer is swaying, I have a blow out on the drivers side tire on trailer! God was with me on this one and was able to pull over to the shoulder. My hydraulic jack would not fit under my axle so I had to take the wheels off the jack to allow it to get under the axle. Doing all this while cars, tractor trailers etc whizzed by me on the outer lane. Thank God I made it home. Did see Dan and I believe Brian on 95 after all was said and done. Must have been Blowout weekend!!LOL

Man...say it wasn't so Jiggen Den. Luckily you got that valve stem replaced just this past week. You must have it I-95 around the 272 intersection. Me and Rendell got on at 896. Glad everything worked out for you. Next time still give me a call.

Thanks guys, I made a long and slow 30mph run in the morning and had 2 keepers in my first 10 mins fishing, thought I was gonna have a fun day, naw... Didn't have another bite till I came back into the northeast around 11:30. Downsized and grinded out a limit and culled a couple times. Then I went back to looking for a big bite but that was a waste of time lol.
I felt bad for not stopping den, i was glad to see u pass me in the traffic so I knew u were back on ur way. I saw u too late and was in the left lane and probably woulda caused a 25 car pileup with the maneuver I would've had to make to get over to the shoulder. Glad I was able to help rob, also glad I made it home without a blowout, it sure seemed like a common theme lol.
Thanks again BN for keeping this club as great as it is. I'm bummed that the seasons over already, it's always fun getting together with this club year after year. RBC could use a pres like that, if ur ever looking for some $ on the side we can talk lol. Also thanks to rob for running weigh ins all year without any issues. Being tourney director sucks, I've been there lol. See everyone at the classic

Thanks for the nice words Dan. Yeah...blowouts seemed like the common theme on Saturday.
For the record, I'm still not feeling the best. Dont know if it was the saltwater Flounder trip I took last Tuesday or a combination of the heat and weather doing a toll on the body this weekend. In either case, it's been a fun and learning season once again. We have some internal business to take care of. Nothing major but must be done for the record.

Seasons over already? Damn, that was quick!
Congrats on the kick ass season Jackson. And another stellar year for you Rob! Looking forward to battling you guys again next season.
I'm pretty sure Dan has helped more people this year than AAA! Nice to know that our club has guys that are willing to go the extra mile to help out a fellow member in need.
Didn't know you had a blowout as well Den. I guess Trap and I were in Precision for 30 min or more and that's why I didn't see you on the side. When I passed you, you were driving so glad you were able to get back on the road quickly.
Of course, great job as usual BN! Hope you're feeling better soon.
The day in a nutshell... Basically I decided to take the long run at 32 mph to the Susky to try and get a limit of Smallmouth and then go back to the Northeast to finish the day. Well, I planned on leaving by 10, which turned to 11, which ultimately became noon. I just couldn't find anymore keepers to up my weight total there and needed to get back in time so I left. I began to hit a bunch of various docks and riprap on the east side for the remainder of the day without a bite. Caught about 20 SM with 5 being keepers. Had a fun time seeing most of the bites as the water was clear and the fish were aggressive. Looking forward to my next trip there.
And thanks to everyone in the club for their participation and see you all at the Classic!

Dan, congrats on the win. Way to grind them out. Rob and Brian, way to be contenders all year. Jackson - no words to describe that season. Congrats! I had a typical for me flats day. Lost one at the boat and had another wrap me in a tree and snap off. The bad luck continued for me, breaking a blade off my prop, losing my net and sunglasses. I guess I miss the boat at the flats when it comes to catching those flats bass...LOL |
