SJBCA Meeting Notes Wed. 07-17-13

Good morning once again SJHT members and guest.

On Wednesday night, I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the Thundergust Park for there annual July BBQ and meeting...which is right down the street from Parvin SP.

Last night was really a re-cap of the SJBCA Fathers Day Open Buddy Tournament held down at Union Lake, Presentaion and Meet\Greet of the Scholarship winner, Deadline for clubs to submit there final rosters for Bass Bowl elegible anglers (To Be Held down on the Potomac River), Discussion of upcoming South Jersey Youth Outdoor Day, Status of area lakes (i.e. Sunset); and Upcoming Tournament news.

Turnout was fair with 16 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.

SJBCA Officers and Bass Clubs in attendance:
Fred Lentz- President (South Jersey Hawg Hunters)
Joe Hoban- 1st Vice President (South Jersey Bass Stalkers) N/A
Rob Kunze- 2nd Vice President (Cumberland County Bassmasters)
Gary Corliss- Treasurer (4th Ward Bass Anglers)-
Al Franchetta- Secretary (Cumberland County BassMasters)
Steve Steinmetz- Tournament Director (Pine Cone Anglers)
Carmen Bersani- Director 1 (Happy Hooker Bassers); N/A

There were 16 Clubs in attendance.

- Had a whole bunch of stuff to say but I was busy chatting with the Scholarship Award winner Ms. Samantha Z.[/b]

Audit Committee- Nothing new to add.

Scholarship Committee:
- Carmen Bersani , MaryAnne Franchetta, and Me

- Announcement of the 2 Scholarship Awards receipants and photo op. Awardees each recieved a $500.00 to go towards there College education and major of study. It was Marianne F. and My pleasure of meeting and talking to this bright young lady. Her dad was in attendance and this was the first time he had heard her written essay. Congratulations once again.
- For the Record, over 93 High Schools in the Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Ocean and Atlantic Counties were emailed and faxed the SJBCA downloadable Scholarship forms. We recieved a total of 9 applicants. There were 5 Key categories scored upon: 1. Academics; 2. Major\Minor of Study. 3. Written Essay; 4. Recommendation letters; 5. Overall score on a 5 Point Scale. (i.e. 1= Least; 3=Average; 5=Outstanding)
