Momma said there would be days like this, but we all must learn from experience..... LOL!!!

What can I say? We South Jersey folks are always up for a little punishment for the good of reporting how our WMA's are performing. LOL!!! D.O.D showed no mercy.

Today, SJHT completed there last 2012 regular season club tournament at D.O.D. Lake. What began as muggy and humid conditions turned into a brief down pour on my way to D.O.D. Lake.

Altough the weathermen called for approaching rain and potential heavy storms forcasted between 12pm-4pm, SJHT members got lucky and only dealt with the Wind and Cold front that came through around 12:45pm.

Now that our regular club season is complete, members focus will be geared toward our annual SJHT Bass Classic which is to be held in 2 weeks. Lets give a big congrats to our new 2012 Angler of the Year Champion Jay *SmellyHooker* N. for sealing the deal and having a wonderful 2012 Regular club season. This is Jay's 1st AOY titleand it is very well deserved.

Alright...todays report!

SJHT completed there 15th regular club tournament of the 2012 at D.O.D Lake. We had 11 members come out to partake in the fun. There were 15 LMB caught giving way to a total weight of 20.14lbs. That gave an avg. weight of 1.34lbs per Bass. . There were 4 Limits caught. 6 out of 11 anglers caught at least 1 Bass.

Anglers reported catching tons and tons of dinks in the 11"~ 11.75" category. None really great to write home about.

Without further adieu, lets give a big congrats to 2nd year member Jackson *Silent Assassin* F. taking 1st place with 3 Bass going 4.99lbs. 2nd Place was won by Rob *Ram1212* M. with 3 Bass going 4;45lbs. 3rd Place and Lunkerwas won by Dennis *Jiggen Den* T. . with 3 Bass going 4.35lbs with the lunker going 2.01lbs.

Men[/b]....Way to compete and Congrats on bringing something weighable to the scales and reaching your Bass limits.

What can I say? One must adjust and adapt to the bodies of water we're thrown in spite of the conditions this time of year. D.O.D. Lake proved once again that time on the water and finding the right bait\pattern is so important. Word on the street is that one memeber had there limit by 7:30am! WTF? While the rest of us struggled to bring one Keeper to the boat and scales. The bass were definitel scattered throughout the water column and key points around the lake. Whether you were drop-shotting, cranking deep, or throwing senko's, the bass all seem to be attracted to various colors and lures. I caught my dinks on a GY Blk\Blue Fleck Chart Tail Grub. My second dink was on a Pumpkin Fleck finesse worm rigged with 1/8oz slider worm. I tried cranking deep with nothing to show for my efforts. I did notice some nice healthy Carp and turtles along the area directly across the main ramp area. D.O.D. is a body of water that needs to be disected. Whether one ventured in between the various islands or headed towards the back area, bass were very tightlipped and not in the feeding mood once the sun got bright and overhead. For those able to cull a few times, I congratulate you. I can't say I developed a particular pattern, but most of the bass were caught early and quickly before the sun got bright, hot, and steamy. LOL!!! Congrats to all the fish catchers. Lets get ready for our 2012 Bass Classic with Day 1 being held at Newton Lake. Day 2 will be at the Manasquan Res.

Thanks to all for coming out today. Congrats to the checking cashiers!

Next up: 2 Day SJHT Bass Classic at Newton Lake and Manasquan Res. September 22-23, 2012 6:30am-2:30pm.

Congrats again to SJHT 2012 Angler of the Year:

First I must congratulate Jay on AOY! You started out strong and never let up! You kept the pressure on every tourn. A well deserved award to a dedicated and personable angler! Congrats to Jackson on the win at DOD, and Rob for taking 2nd Place. Way to figure them out! I want to congratulate Chris on taking 2nd place in the standings, another hardcore angler! I think next year will be interesting to say the least. We have so many experienced anglers, all who know the many bodies of waters we fish very well. Hopefully next year we can ALL share a report here and there to give a little infor on how your day progressed during the tournament. I know some people are tightlipped and don't care for sharing info, but like BN always said we are a bunch of guys fishing for fun and a little pocket money. I'd like to wish everyone the best of luck in the Classic!
