What happens when one has not fished in over a month, gets the opportunity to get out amongst his members to wet a line, and partake in a decent day on the water? Well...I call that Live Action!!
On a day that started out on the rainy side with flashes of Thunder\Lightening in the distant background, many anglers were met with Detour signs for a good stretch of Deerfield Road heading towards Maskells Mill Pond.
On Saturday, August 18, 2012, SJHT and its members traveled a bit Southward to fish WMA Maskells Mill Pond. On this date, 14 members came out to partake in the fun. There were 23 bass caught overall. Total weight came to 34.94 lbs. This gave an avg. bass weight of 1.52lbs. There were 4 Limits caught. 12 out of 14 anglers brought at least 1 bass to the scales. Unfortunately 1 bass did not survive due to a late, deep tongue hook set.
Angler reported catching many dink size bass, catfish, pickeral along with the occassional keeper bass. Maskells Mills has always been high on my favorite places to fun fish.

along with his wifes Janeen dink size bass... :->
Layne's *Basser995* E. catch:
All in all, Maskells Mills has definitely come back from the damn area work done over 2 yrs ago and the low water conditions. I'm here to report that SJHT very much enjoyed re-visiting this body of water and hope that the fishing continues to improve. Oneday those dinks Bass will grow up to be bigger bass. Anglers on this day developed an ever so suddle pattern that enable them to catch multiple bass.
Next tournament at Mirror Lake, Sun. August 26, 2012 6am-1pm.
