Momma said there would be days like this and with April Fools coming a day earlier, the bass were in no mood to cooperate. Can an angler just get on the scoreboard for 2011? Man oh man!!!
Today, 14 SJHT anglers fished there 3rd club tournament of the season at the infamous Davis Mill Pond. I see why FishDevil and the like love this place. Talk about laydowns, wood, a little grass, and some deeper water, I'm quite sure the inconsistant weather has these bass fickled. Unfortunately, Davis Mills showed us No-Love whatsoever today!!!
Without further adieu, give a big shout out to todays's SJHT Davis Mill Pond winner and Lunker champ Brian "BassHopper" S. with 1 Bass going 3.34lbs. Second place was also won by a SJHT member Bill "The Hammer" L. with 1 bass weighing 3.22lbs. Third place was won by Andrew "Bates" B. with 1 bass weighing 1.61lbs. Congrats men as you definitely earned everything that was thrown your way.

Tale of the Tape:
As one can see from the total results, Davis Mill Pond was not having it today! and Who said, we should put this lake on our schedule? LOL! I'm quite sure this place is on fire come May and the summer months. Today left many anglers scratching there heads as we threw everything including the kitchen sink.
I wish I could honestly report on what the 3 anglers caught them on, but it really didn't matter as No real pattern was ever developed. Bill "The Hammer" L. didn't catch his bass till less than 30 minutes remaining in the Tournament. Heck... BassHopper caught his with the first 30 minutes of the start of the tournament. Bates bass was somewhat caught Mid-day. Go-Figure!!! This place literally handed our A** to ourselves sweetly wrapped.
Other notable catches:
Ummm... There were no more caught!!!!
Okay... Here is some scenary of the place...
See you guys next week at Rainbow Lake.

Congrats again to Brian, Bill, and Bates, nice going on a another TOUGH day on the water. Like BN said, we threw everything and the kitchen sink to no avail! I had my only hit on a 4" worm texas rigged on the bank to the right of the ramp. Pick-up was extremely lit, felt the weight and line started to move, set the hook and had the fish on for about 2-3 seconds and then he or she was gone!!! That sums it up for me. Hope to see you guys next week. I'll be fishing Salem on Wed with my Pa. club.

wow........... it sure was a tough day out there, to sum up my day i threw all the normal pre-spawn lures, lipless cranks, square-bill cranks, jerkbaits, jigs, and even a senko, all with out getting even one bite from anything. i cant even remember the last time i fished for 6 hours and didnt even get a bite, even a pickelal. anyway, i sure hope next week at Rainbow we do better than we did this week. see everyone there. |

Congrats to the people who caught also. My tackle box wa scattered all over the boat by 1pm i threw everytthing, including a few crankbaits that were older than me. In the process of changing lures at one point found a few of Roland Martins Helicopter lures and just laughed, no i didnt throw them i have some dignity. The skunk was eatin away at me hard, so bad that i walked over to the local pond and found my lil brother who was pluckin sunnys. Took the rod from him and caught one for myself then left. Definitly a tough day |
