Can you say break out the hand warmers, under armour gear, long johns, and whatever else to keep ones body and extrimities from freezing? You know it's cold when ice starts to build up in your rod line guides!!! Well this is what 22 SJHT anglers faced as we kicked off our 2nd Club Tournament of the year!
Despite the forecasted bad weather with a slight chance of snow further South, anglers came to do battle and live up to NJBassman's most recent Open victory not too long ago!!! With 13 New Rookies for the 2011 season, whoever said one had to wait there turn in order to taste victory. Well it not only happen, but it happen to Kyle's a.k.a. "WallHanger" little Bro. Kerry a.k.a. "Big856K" in his 1st Club tournament of the season.
Without further adieu, give a big shout out to todays's SJHT Parvin SP Lake winner and Lunker champ Kerry S. with 1 Bass going 4.17lbs. Second place was also won by a Rookie SJHT member in Drew A.K.A. "BassMaster Brandley" B. with 1 bass weighing 2.41lbs. Third place was narrowly won by Jimbo with 1 bass weighing 2.36lbs. Congrats to these fine young anglers and way state your claims for not only Rookie of the year but also AOY!!!

Tale of the Tape:
As one can see from the total results, Parvin SP was very much a tough place not only to get a little nibble but in bringing LMB to the scales was far and few. Congrats to those who figured them out. Big shout out goes to the 2 new rookie members for landing those fish and winning some nice $$$ in the process. Way to hang tough out there!!!
Other notable catches: Kyle "WallHanger" S. catch:
Jackson's catch:
Brian "BassHopper's" Catch:
Well that pretty much summarizes the 15" fish that were caught today. Some members reported some 14.75" and 14" bass caught, but this is a lunker lake where 15" is the rule.
Special thanks to those helping out with the launching and loading of the boats at the ramp. Outside the cold air temps, 22 anglers is not bad at all!!!
See you guys next week at Davis Mill Pond.

You got that right Kyle! Way to go Big 856K??
My report of the day on the lake is kinda short. Started throwing the trap first thing to the right of the ramp by the dam, and the bank to no avail. Then doubled back towards the launch and to the left of the ramp, nothing. Then as I saw the crowd sort of dispersing at the beach area I decided to make my move there, and that's where I picked up my only short of the day 13 1/2-14" on a jig. Fished cranks traps , jigs, chatter baits, and even tried drop shot but a bit too windy. Oh well see ya next week and congrats to all that caught fish on brutal and tough conditions.
Congrats Kerry on the win! Congrats to the rest of the fish catchers and brave soldiers for weathering the elements! I would have been much happier filling the livewell than the porcelain! See everyone at DMP!
my day at parvins consisted of throwing traps all day in front of the beach area without so much as a bite. finally i decided to try another spot so around noon i went up to the feeder creek and began working my way back. about half way between the feeder creek and the beach, i notice a ball of bait about 10ft x 10ft. i watched them for all of about 5 seconds before i relized i have a jerkbait that looked exactly like the bait. 1st cast to the bait i hook up with my 1st keeper of the day. 2 casts later i catch a 14in fish. i said to myself "cool i finally figured it out". only problem was, it was 1:25pm. i stay in the spot for 20 more minutes and catch 2 more barely short fish. well that pretty much sums my day up. hopefully we all do better at DMP. see everyone there.
White Mike... What's up Man? We need to meet up. I got something for you. When you have time, give me a call. Hope to see you around a bit. Hope the class\work is going smoothly.
