SJBCA Meeting Notes 01-19-2011

Greetings fellow SJHT members and guest. I hope cabin fever has not gotten the best of us. I just wanted to update old and potential new members on last weeks SJBCA monthly 3rd Wednesday of every month meeting held at the 4th Ward ClubHouse located down the road from Parvin SP.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending and paying our 2011 SJBCA $20.00 Dues for the coming upcomijng year. I was also briefed on new and old SJBCA business. Below you will find the SJBCA officers and Bass clubs in attendance.

Fred Lentz- President (South Jersey Hawg Hunters)
Joe Hoban- 1st Vice President (South Jersey Bass Stalkers)
Rob Kunze- 2nd Vice President (Cumberland County Bassmasters)
Gary Corliss- Treasurer (4th Ward Bass Anglers)
Al Franchetta- Secretary (Cumberland County BassMasters) Out Sick!
Carmen Bersani- Director 1 (Happy Hooker Bassers)- Not Available
Mike Graham- Director 2 (4th Ward Bass Anglers)

There were 18 Clubs in attendance.

Officers Report:
* Still accepting 2011 Club Rosters-
* Final Youth Activity Award Nominations accepted.
* Need to update E-Mail addresses
* Final Angler excellence Award Nominations accepted.

Note: Bill "The Hammer" Leach for 3 Bass going 10lbs has won the Angler excellence for the Heavyest 3 Bass Limit for Parvin Lake. Award will be presented at the next SJBCA monthly meeting to be held on Wed. Feb. 16, 2011 at the BRRC clubhouse. Note the change in meeting location.

* Tresurer Report: Beg. Balance $1,919.53. Ending Balance $1,859.53. Payments to the Millville Elks Lodge for March 2011 Flee Market.
* $5.00 penalty for dues submitted after January 31, 2011.

* Tournament Director: Steve Steinmitz
* Still accepting lure donations for Tackle Box Raffle for Flea Market. (SJHT has already submitted our Fresh and Saltwater donations.)
* Suggested Lakes for 2011 Bass Bowl. (i.e. Union Lake, Hudson River-Catskills launch area, Beltsville, PA, Lake Hopatcong, Candlewood, NorthEast-Bohemia lanuch area). Final vote will come at the next meeting.

* 1st Vice President: Joe Hoban
- Request approval of $18.00 Renewal Registration for SJBCA Trailer.

* President: BigFred
- Offer recieved from Barrington Rod & Reel Club to host next SJBCA monthly meeting at there location on Feb. 16, 2011.

Committee Reports:
Audit Committee- Joe Hoban, MaryAnne Franchetta, & Rob Kunze. No committe until next January.

Scholarship Committee:
Carmen Bersani , MaryAnne Franchetta, and Greg Lentz.
- Recommendations for improvement in the program.

Flea Market Committee: Carmen Bersnai, .
* Date reserved for March 05, 2011 at Millvile Elks location.
* 2 Seminars to be held by some local anglers and Bassnj .com members\Sponsors.
* Still need volunteers
* Update on Vendors scheduled to attend

Audit Committee:
Look over Gary's book for 2010 (Ray, Mike, John Sullivan. Review books & fill out form to document.

CLUB Business:
Youth Fishing Activities: SJBCA members volunteered for the annual Pine Hill Scout Reservation Camp Sat. Oct. 23, 2010. Although not that many fish were caught, scouts had a wonderful time.

* Old Business:
- Election of new officers (1st VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Director, Directors 1 & 2.

* New Business-
* Nominations for Bass Bowl location (To be held October 16, 2011). The choices could be any location within driving distance other than the locations used in the past 3 years. Locations not available: Delaware River, Nanticoke River, and Potomac River.
* Approval for advertising and expenses to be incurred at the Fishermen's Flee Market. (up to $75.00).
* Approval of expenses for award plaques- (FYI...Approved up $350.00 in 2010...spent actually $250.00 for Fishing excellence awards)
* Form the Audit Committee.
* Review and vote on 2010 Youth Activity Awards and announce winners.

(Heavy 3 Fish Limit- Bill "The Hammer" Leach 10lbs Parvin SP)
(Heavy 5 Fish Limit- Name N/A- 15.68lbs)

* Presentation of awards for the Bass Bowl Winners (Top Rod)
* Continue planning for the 2011 Fishermen's Flee Market
* Pay 2011 Dues.

So in summary and important dates to remember:

* SJHT 2011 schedule has been confirmed with the possible addition of Lake Lenape. Still to come possibley later in the year.
* Lure Donations were submitted to SJBCA's Steve Steinmitz from SJHT.
* 1st Annual Precision Tackle Get-Together at Langhorne, PA Mall- Sunday, Feb. 06, 2011 2pm-Till
* Annual NJ Fishery and Wildlife Seminar held at Batsto, State Park Sat. Feb. 26, 2011 10am-12pm.
Light refreshments and coffee served.
* Fishermens Flee Market down at the Millville Elks Club- March 05, 2011 8am
* Any SJHT member is welcome to attend, meet up, or travel down with me to the monthly SJBCA meetings. The inner and outer workings is open to anyone interested in learning more about these meetings.
* Enjoy the upcoming Super Bowl. Packers vs. the Steelers (Note- to Justin....this won't be a 7th Super Bowl for your Steelers!!!) LOL!!
* Meeting was adjourned around 9:15pm
