Today, 9 of SJHT finest came out to battle and stay awayu from the Beating Dragon Boat Drums as we carefully navigated around the edges of Mercer Lake. This was a first for us as most sculling\races close the Public ramp but hey whatever.

Summary: Where shall I begin. What a year! Congrats to Brian McCully for winning another SJHT AOY Title. The number don't lie. Congrats to all the members that came out week after week and competed feverishousy to battle and improve there on the water knowledge and fishing skills and techniques. More to Come!!!!
So Mercer Lake presented anglers with various cookie cutter size Bass and from time to time allowed a Keeper to take up residency in our aerated\Oxygenated Livewells. The bites for me came early however anglers were still catching them with 20 minutes left in the event as we did our best to steer away from the Lake Patrol Boat and Dragon Boat Rowers. I really thought we would be asked to leave or the gates woulds have been locked upon arrival in the AM. Anglers reported culling a couple of times while others struggled to even get a nibble. Talking about adjusting to Dragon boats with the Beating drums and large crowds on the shoreline, it almost felt like they were cheering for us. NOT!!! LOL!! Anyway's, We Came! We Fished! and Mike Del Monico Conquered!! LOL
In All, 8 out of 9 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were only 15 Bass caught overall. Mercer Lake gave way to total of 32.02lbs caught overall. The avg. weight was 2.13lbs
Overall.... only 3 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit. While the remaining anglers did there very best to put at least 1 bass in the Live well.
Congrats to Mike Del Monico, Brian McCulley, Jackson Fu, and Bill Leach on your performances.
Next up is the SJHT 2022 Bass Classic in 2 Weeks with Day 1 at COOPER RIVER PARK. Day 2 will be at UNION LAKE.
