Now that we're officially in the Closed season, I was wondering where many you were planning on fishing over the next few weeks. I will admit June 19, 2010 seems like a long time away, but I know some of you will out on the water honing your skills to start the second half of the season.
I'll get things started. For one Manasquan Res. is high on my list to fish during this period. One cannot beat the Largemouth and possible Smallmouth bites this time of year. Besides...it doesn't hurt that we fish this place in the latter part of July 2010.
A second place I wouldn't mind checking out again is fishing the upper Delaware River on the Lambertville, NJ side. In years passed, venturing up that way always produced some nice Smallies and Largies.
A third location I wouldn't mind checking out is Lake Hopatcong. Word on the street is that one can get a mixed bag of species of fish up that way.
These are just some places over the course of the next month or two, I plan on fishing. If there are any interests in doing a kind of group thing or just meet up at the boat ramp, that too is doable.
So let's hear...where you guys\gals plan on wetting a line
Well I'm hoping to hit 3 lakes this off season even though we have none of them on our schedule. I hoping to hit
Ellis Mill lake acrossed from my friends house. Though I caught only one 2lb 7oz bass there. I know there is close to a 3lber in there due to the fact my friend caught a 2 and half pound bass there last year. That fish could still be in there and bigger than it was last. Plus if I could hit it during pre spawn that would be great.
Next on my list Lake Audrey. I gotta get out there and catch monster smallmouth down there. I hear smallmouth put up a nice fight and I want to feel that for myself.
Last is Greenwich Lake. I never really fished that lake to hard but my dad said he saw the biggest bass he ever saw caught there when he was there once so I think I might hit that. Gotta check with my dad first if he wants to hit these places also
I'm hoping to hit Union, Newton, and maybe I'll make the run to Manasquan if everyone else is going to. I have a trip on the Big D with Backwater in early May.
