1st place was Chris Smith with 21.10 lbs.
2nd and 3rd were 17 and some change.
I had a little over 16 lbs in practice on Saturday, but i could only get 3 for 8.19 lbs on tx day. I had an amazing spot, but u could only get to it on dead high tide, and for some reason the tide was really delayed on Sunday and i couldnt get back to it. here's a pic of the 11 lb. 10 oz. snakehead i caught and killed tx day. (its the biggest snakehead the rangers at Smallwood State park have ever seen come out of the potomac. at least thats what they told me)

Holy cow!!! I mean snakeheade!!! That is unreal! Shame the tide didn't cooperate on TX day! It was an experience! Jimbo texted me two giant momma's he caught. He didn't say if it was in the TX or practice.

it was crazy bro. i had just caught my 3rd keeper that weighted about 2.75 lbs on a swim jig, 2 casts later, i feel a thump. it hit just like a bass. when i slammed back to set the hook, it took off just like a bass. i yelled at my rider to get the net. this thing had some serious head shakes and runs. it rolled on the surface about 30 ft out and i saw the girth and thought it was at least a 7-8 lb bass cuz from that far away in the muddy water it looked like a bass. we get the thing next to the boat and when my rider see's that its a huge snakehead, he drops the net and says f that im not netting that thing. i finally convince him to net it and we get it in the boat and it was actually really calm once it was in the net. now i had to kill this thing so i grabbed a pair off sharp tipped sissors and stabbed it in the head..........but it was like hitting concrete. next i grabbed my prop wrench and bashed it on the head........nothing. so i threw it in the back compartment of my boat were my gas tank is. 3 hours later when we finished weighting in i took it out and it was just as alive as when i put it in there. i took some pics and brought it to the ranger station. in front of the ranger station was the weight in were everyone was standing around so we all decide to have some fun with it. lol. there were alot of pics taken of the carnage and im sure they will surface on here, bassnj, or youtube |

Hahaha, that was great report Kyle. Very funny. Read it to my brother in the next room. That is one tough fish.

Once again Congrats to all the New Class of SJHT NJ Bass Federation members who ventured down to our 1st Tournament held on the Potomac River.
After reading Kyle's post and remembering the carnage back on land, I decided to upload our weekends pics up to Photobucket.
Here are some of the snapshots from the events...
Enjoy!!!
Me in practice with a nice 17.5":

Jimbo's 2 Beast caught in Practice:

My boaters 4.9lber caught in Practice:

Kyle's Snakehead cut open:

Kyle's vertical snapshot of SnakeHead:

and lastly another shot of SnakeHead cut open...full with eggs

Me and Jimbo had a great 1st day of Practice. With the weather\wind changing up a bit on the remaining days, my conditions were a little more rough.
Congrats once again to all who weighed in a fish. This will not be the last time down there.
