Welcome to SJHT's 4th event of the 2026 season. 6 dedicated SJHT anglers came out to battle on the Last NJ Open Seasn Bass fishing event before the April 15th, deadline. The conditions seemed ideal however the steady bi-directional winds made for a tough day. Unfortunately for most, the bass were not as active as we would have liked.

A snapshot thanks to David S.
Summary: So another tough day fishing in South Jersey. What else is new? May have to seriously look at removing this body of water as we've fished in the Fall and now the spring, and the results are similiar. Anglers including myself barely got bit at all. For those that did catch a bass, they were below the 15" Min. length requirement. There were some 14" Bass caught but many cookie cutter size below 12". So what gives? The weather seemed stable leading up to this event. The water temps weren't bad but no signs of pre-spawn.
So this week, we had 3 keeper size bass weighed in. This was 3 less Bass than the previous week. The total weight of all bass was 8.54lbs. That gave way to an avg. of 2.85lbs. 2 out 6 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. ALLOWAY Lake Appeared very calm and demur today. Unfortunately, the results showed different signs.
Looking at the Tale of the Tape, one can surmise the bite was pretty non-existant.
Congrats to David Snedeker and Dennis Tolentino on your performances.
