Down to our next to last regular season 2015 tournament SJHT, finest anglers came out to see what the new and improved Mercer Lake had to offer.

On Saturday, August 22, 2015 10 SJHT anglers came out to Mercer Lake in what typically is an early season body of water for us. This marked our 15th event of the season.

Taking in the scenary and kayakers, Mercer Lake got crowded real quick. By the time 1pm came, patrons were on land, water, and over at the concession stands getting it in. LOL!!!

Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Rookie member Gary "The Elder" K. who took 1st place with 2 Bass weighing 4.11lbs. 2nd Place was won by Rob *Ram1212* M. with 3 Bass weighing 4.08lbs. 3rd Place and Lunker was won by Bill *FishinTroop* C. with 1 Bass weighing 2.76lbs. Congrats men and Gary....way to work hard for those fish while fishing from the back. LOL!!

Summary: Mercer Lake offered up Dink after Dink after Dink. Anglers reported catching multiple sub 10" Bass. Trying to find the elusive keeper proved challenging for most. Word on the street is that Gary caught his winning Keepers early. I myself caught mine around 9am. Before that, I had about 3 small dinks. Slow and steady of the RattleTrap out in the deeper portions of Mercer proved to be successful for me. Nothing really tight up close unless it was early before the sun got good and hot overhead. There were a total of 12 Bass weighed in totalling 19.71lbs. That gave way to a 1.64lb avg. catch. There was 1 Limit caught. 8 out of 10 anglers caught at least 1 Bass.

All in All, the weather was again excellent and most anglers were getting bit quite early in the AM. Unfortunately they were of the small variety. LOL.

Hope to see all members for our regular season finale on the Northeast River, MD out of Anchor Marine this coming Saturday.

 Tightlines,

 | Thanks Den. Was that keeper you caught right before the end of the T and in thr marina? I saw you back there. Congrats on your first win Gary. Hope more come your way. Congrats on making it close Rob. I got my 1 and only keeper on about the third cast. After that I had a good dink pattern going. Lol. Caught about 8 or 9 but never another keeper Edited by fishintroop on 08/23/2015
