Hit the Canal on Sunday to run the motor. Water temps were right about 70 degrees everywhere. Cloudy skies with a brisk breeze. Eventful beginning to the day. Back in the boat, drop it off the trailer and start to pull out. I look down at the seat next to me and see the PLUG!!!!. Quickly hook up and pull her out and let her drain for about 5 minutes. Get back in the water, fire her up and off we go. Hit the "Y" and break right. I haven't been on the canal in a looooong time so wasn't too sure where to go. I spot an area that looks promising. Started out throwing a buzzbait around and into the pads and in the first 10 minutes hook up with a cookie cutter keeper. 20 minutes later pickup another then the bite stops. For the next 2 1/2 hours I'm throwing assorted plastics, heavy hitter, and some jigs with nothing to show not even a tick. So fire up the motor and move on. Break out the buzzbait again and proceed to pick up 4 more with a few misses. They were eating the buzz up to the blades! Here's one of the cookie cutters. Total of 6 for the day made me happy with some extra bites to boot
Nice! Fishintroop! hey 6 cookies are better than no cookies anytime!!LOL If that's what they want that's what you give'em! Unusual that nothing caught on and rubber or Jigs??
Way to nail a few on the buzzbait. Haha weve all been there with the plug, I actually did the opposite recently. Spent a Saturday on the Mullica River a couple weeks ago and when I got home I forgot to take the plug out!. Well after that week of rain last week I stopped by the house the crappie jon rests at to find it half full of water and the tires about to blow. Took forever to drain now shes full of leaves and the carpets green.

I think I've lost my touch with the plastics. Maybe fishing them too fast

Thanks Dan...That's the first time I ever forgot the plug. That was scary!
I've had water in my old boat and had to use a sump pump to get it out LOL

Troop...way to get out and good seeing you on the water. Nice production
I think we've all been there with the plug being in or out. Lol! Good thing you didnt get too far.
It was somewhat strange not seeing more boaters on the water that day with those perfect conditions.
Save an open seat for me Bro.
