Fire guts Pub 199 in Mt. Arlington

For those 2012 SJBCA Bass Bowl SJHT participants that ate with us near Lake Hopatcong up at the inexpensive Pub 199 Restaurant, well it is no more.

i believe Rob aka Ram1212 first broke the news on Friday up on Bassnj.com that it had burned down.

This is the place where Jay, Bill, Jimbo, and myself ate dinner the night before the Bass Bowl. Famous for there Steaks, Clams, and Crab Legs all for like $15.00 caught on fire and burnt down yesterday. whaaa

This was truly a landmark and favorite eatery not just for the anglers but the entire Mt. Arlington community.

Hopefully they'll rebuild.

That was me. I'm not sure why I didn't post here also, thanks BN. I did not know thats where you guys went the night before! Missed my only chance, oh well.

Yeah...it was a truly unique, inexpensive restaurant Rob. Jimbo was raving all about this place before the rest of us actually ate dinner there.

I will have to admit that even though, it was a bit loud and crowded at times, the Steam clams, crab legs, and steaks were pretty good. The circular bar area was also pretty neat as one could have a cocktail, wait to be seated, and still keep visualization of there buddies walking through the entrance. The life-like Fresh and Saltwater fish replicas on the wall were pretty impressive too. Truly gonna be missed but even more by those who've had a chance to eat there multiple times.
