So me and Tboe were speaking at Newton this past Saturday about fishing clementes sunday.
We also had the idea about hosting a small tournament for club members, since there is a bi week ahead of us. If some of you guys dont have plans we should defintely do this. Its a great oppertunity to practice some deep water fishing, and brush up on your drop shot/shakey head skills etc.
Entry fee would be just like a club tournament $15.00
3 fish limit for each angler
Start time 5:30-12:30 (to be discussed)
Of course we will need a scale, maybe provided by BN06?
or if not we can use Tboes obvious broken berkley scale  lol
So thats pretty much it, if your intrested reply here. Since it was my idea I can handle the entry fees, weigh in etc, ill get a taste of what it feels like to be BN06 for a day

NOTE: Just in case you guys have a panic attack reading this because you heard it was closed, shut down, etc. Take a deep breath and relax, because ive been there about 10 times already this year and
#1 the gates ARE open.
#2 I was out there fishing multiple times, had cops circle the lot and did absolutely nothing.
#3 I very highly doubt that even if there was an issue, a local officer who fishes himself would go out of his way to ruin the Sunday of multiple anglers.

WM....You or anyone else is welcome to take the scale for this event. Unfortunately, I cannot make this due to a prior commitment.
It sounds like it would be definitely fun. Good idea opening this up to just members here. If you're looking for a possible greater turnout (Not that you would want to crowd the field), posting this up on Bassnj.com may offer you other alternatives.
Either way, if Tboe or yourself need the scale, I can drop off at a designated location by this coming Friday, Aug. 20, 2010.
Just let me know!

I have a party to go to saturday night, if I can control myself from having too many beers, then I might be there. If it was Saturday morning it would be a definite yes. Are you guys sure about that 5:30am starting time? |

5:30 seems about right, considering at Stone Tavern people complained because of the 6:00 start time
if it works out better for some people we could also do a night run from 2-9 like newton
but if we can Id like to keep it morning
hope you can make it hopper
PS there is a bar on the road u turn off of on 295 to get to clementes, so if u pace yourself saturday night we can all pound some back together on sunday lol |

Why not make it a buddy T $40 per boat with $10 of that towards lunker and only pay 1st place and lunker. Start time should be 6:00 because it is still to dark to get boats in the water at that crappy ramp at 5:30. Just Sayin.

lol im amazed that there is 70 views and 5 replys on this thread..
Tboe I think that idea would work but why make it a buddy T?
It seems it would only be effective if there are only a few anglers coming out, however id like to get some more feedback before we conclude on a format. |
