Place: Manasquan Res, Howell, NJ
Date: Saturday, July 12, 2014
Weather: Early morning fog rolled in making conditions pretty nice. This led to many earlier catches. Comfortable and warm early 70 degrees start warming up to a Hot and Humid 85 degrees.
Water Temps: At start 79.0 degrees warming up towards 82 degrees later in the day.
Water Clarity: Very clear Down to 10'
Wind Gust: 5-10mph most of day
Best Lure: N/A
fished: 4'~8.0'
Bass Limit: 3
-----------------------------------------------------
Can you say tough bite and small dink size bass caught....

9 Anglers came out to do battle with the hopes of catching the mother load of bags. Sorrily, it was really not to be outside of the winners Lunker hog.

There were 2 Limits brought to the scales today. 4 out of 9 anglers weighed at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 10 Bass weighed in totalling 21.00lbs. That gave way to avg. bass weight of 2.10lbs.

Without further adieu, please give a big shout-out to Brian *SubFish* M. for catching 3 bass going 6.87lbs[/b]. Second place was won by Dennis *Jiggen Den* T. with 3 Bass going 6.13lbs. Brians Lunker went 4.71lbs. Third place was taken by Rob *Ram1212* M. with 2 Bass going 5.41lbs.

Way to figure them out men on another tough day.

Here's the official Manasquan Res. Tale of the Tape:

So in summary, After the fog rolled in right after launching, for me the bite really died down. I had a couple of small sub 12"ers caught but nothing else. Heading towards the western section of the Res, I saw many anglers out in the middle and saw few along the shallower depths near the tree lines. Can't say I saw many Bass being caught. Heading towards the dam and rocks, I had a couple more taps on the line but again nothing. I did see some fingerling bass swimming but no females or even bucks nearby. Quite strange but we did have blue bird skies. Hoping to hear how our winners fared and any patterns revealed.

Congrats again to Brian, Jiggen Den, and Rob in figuring them out.

See you all in 2 weeks for our next Club Tournament at Union Lake .

Congrats Brian on 1st place and real nice lunker! Congrats Rob on taking 2nd place and keeping the pressure on!! Again Rob thanks for the hand helping me load my boat on the trailer. I started out throwing top water to the left of ramp and when I saw the fog rolling in I thought the top water bite may happen, but nothing. Then I started throwing the jig and felt the hydrilla or some kind of weeds on the bottom and began popping the jig as it would get hung a bit and that's when they started nailing it. Basically stayed in one long stretch for most of the day then moved around a bit. Caught 6 keepers 5-jigs 1-worm. Lost a good one when it came to the surface real fast and threw my jig!
