Last night, I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the 4th Ward Clubhouse (2.0 miles pass Parvin State Park). Last night was filled with a full agenda along with guest Speaker and Superindentent of Fish and Wildlife a Mr. Dave Golden.
Turnout was outstanding with 23 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.

There were 23 Clubs in attendance.

Guest in attendance and Special presentations:
* Dave Golden, NJ Div of Fish and Wildlife.
- Dave touched on various initiatives going on in the state but more specifically the Tuckahoe Impoundment Projects; Steven's Lake and Open Boat Area. The After Hurricane Sandy effects and some delays to ongoing projects. He touched on Sunset Lake in the Bridgeton area. Dave will also be in attendance at the Batsto NJ Fish and Wildlife Fisheries forum this coming Sat. Feb. 23, 2013 10am-12pm up near Wharton State Park.
*Awarding of plaques for 2012 Angler Excellence, Youth Activity, and Bass Bowl winners.

- Met with Exec. Board to discuss Flee Market planning; The Need for Speakers;
- 2012 and 2013 Budget may focus on donations made by "Friends of the Association" in the form of monetary donation or giving of fishing related tackle. In return the SJBCA would be incline to post a banner which represents the vendor or the friend of the association contribution.

- There's an upcoming NJ Fisheries Forum to be held at Batsto on Sat. Feb. 23, 2013. 10am-12pm

Committee Reports:
Audit Committee- 3 Volunteer Members:Stu Cohen, John Sullivan, & Mike Riordan are requested to review Gary Corliss SJBCA Financial records and submitt there report to the Exec. board. The audit was conducted and the books were certified by all 3 volunteers.
Scholarship Committee:
- Carmen Bersani , MaryAnne Franchetta, and Me
- Candidates must be from the Delaware Valley Area and graduating this June 2013. Must be targeting a degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, and\or a major relating to improving\researching Fisheries and the environment. Deadline to apply is by Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Scholarship is worth $500.00
- Discussions for 2013 Scholarship process - Scholarship forms found up on SJBCA Website www.sjbca.org
Flea Market Committee: Carmen Bersnai, Joe Hoban, Al Franchetta, & MaryAnne Franchetta
* 55 Tables have been rented so far. There will be 3-4 Tables Comp for the NJ Fisheries Biology, local WMA Park Rangers, and I believe 2 other organizations.
* Speakers have yet to be announced. Topic of discussion is still unclear, but I can attest to whoever is selected, they will bring a wealth of knowledge related to fishing techniques\presentation\understanding your local bodies of water, and the NJ State Fisheries Forum News regarding New and Old topics.
-Volunteers are requested to help with this years flea market. Helpiing vendors load and unload there stuff,
door security, casting area, and etc. Contact BigFred or Carmen if interested. Volunteers earn 1 participation point and have access to the flea market before opening to the public.

Awesome job Jay. That is one hell of a bragging right for the year with all the clubs in SJ.
It's also important to note that Jay could have won the Biggest Lunker of 2012 but was outdone by a 6.66lber caught by another angler.
I find it somewhat funny that Kerry's 5.33lber caught this past week at Salem Canal may also possibly hold up for the entire season. With tournaments scheduled back down in Delware, The NE Flats, the Pink, and the Squan, i feel anything is possible for that kicker Bass!!!
Always a nice gesture for a SJHT club member to be recognized outside of the normal everyday club business.
