Can you say Sassafras Part Deaux?

On Saturday, May 30, 2015 13 of SJHT finest anglers came out for Round 8 of our 2015 season. This Tournament mark the halfway point of the season and anglers were looking at making amends from our last Northeast River Tournament.

 Let's get right to it.

When it comes to showing up with his game face on, it doesn't matter if he fishes from the front or the back of the boat, he just simply catches Bass. Give a big congrats to 1st place winner Kyle *WallHanger* S. for taking the win with 3 Bass weighing 11.25lbs. His lunker went 4.07lbs. 2nd Place was won by Dan *Crappie Jon* F. with 3 Bass going 10.45lbs. Third place and Lunker was won by our Tournament Director Rob *Ram1212* with 3 bass going 9.85lbs. Robs winning Lunker went 4.16lbs. Congrats men on a fine job!

1st Place winner Kyle *Wallhanger* S.

2nd Place winner Dan *Crappie Jon* F.

3rd Place and Lunker winner Rob *Ram1212* M.

 Sassafras Tale of the Tape:

 Other Notable Bass catchers:

 Jiggen Den:

Joe *KVD-I'm gonna get you sucka* Rendell H.:

 Bob Van S.

 Brian *SubFish* M.

So in summary, all can view by the tale of the tape, there were some nice size Bass caught by most. 21 Bass were caught in all totalling 63.28lbs. This gave way to avg. of 3.01lbs per bass. 8 out of 13 anglers had at least 1 Bass. 5 Limits were brought to the scales.

Anglers stated the bite came early and when High Tide was on. Although anglers were allowed to run wherever they wanted, I believe all actually stayed in the Sassafras River and there creeks. Word on the street was that the wind was somewhat brutal hence the reasoning why all stayed close inside the Sassafras.

Next up is Stewart lake in about 3 weeks. Hope to see all there upon my return. Thanks again for the pics, tale of the tape, and running a smooth event Rob.

 | Thats great lol, i turned mine off when running to save battery, i want the 12v hardwire hookup.. stupid batteries.
I started my day by being stupid and following my gps to see if there was a faster way than i normally go. wrong. i went around like 6 roundabouts and saw half of maryland and added 25 mins to my drive. then i was rushing cause im the one that always is the be there early advocate i leave my net in my truck lol. Then that no wake zone, omg i almost fell asleep. That thing is way too long. In the end I had a good day. Limit by 7:00 (shoulda been 6:30 smh, we wont go there), and multiple culls and upgrades to get to the bag i had. needed that slob or the 4lb class fish but never found them. Definitely the best the sass has ever treated me. Its nice to see my name on the top 6 ticker again, forgot what that looked like for a while...lol

I did not know they had 12v hookup...that would be so much better. I have 2 batteries and 2 memory cards, but really need 4 of each to go a whole day. I saved the second battery just so i could record the ride back. I expected the wind to be much worse but it really wasn't bad.

 http://cam-do.com...nator.html for 3 and 3+ cameras

or this route and use a cigarette lighter type setup and keep it charging all day

Thanks for the links. Definitely something to consider. Everytime I use my cig lighter I blow a fuse for some reason. I think that 12v direct is the way to go.

 | I had to leave early the wind was beating me up! congrats all on your catches! I too finally didn't get skunked at the sass! First thing in the morning I caught a fat 14.5 very next cast attempted to hook up on a big 4lbder but my drag was so loose it was a bad hook up and at the boat rolled and spit the hook (story of my fishing life) two cast later a set up on another nice fish (I did not see this one) and it started to run directly at me and with my spinning reel I could not keep up by the time I picked up the slack she was gone! I did catch a nice catfish too! so for me the cards were not stacked in my favor but still had a good time! again congrats to everyone! |

 | Congrats Kyle, Dan, and Rob. Kyle did it all from the back of the boat. I had 1 come unbuttoned about half way to the boat in the first 15 minutes and then nothing the rest of the day. One of these days
Thanks Rob for letting me help with the weighin. Atleast I got to touch some fish. LOL...
