So it Shall Be Done!!!
The 2024 SJHT season is officially finished!!! Coming out and enduring remenants of Tropical Storm Helene on an acutal calm, humid, and misty rain day, pretty much defines the latter part of our 2024 season.
This weekends weather was pretty much overcast both days. Air temps did not rise above 72 degrees.
Alloway Lake greeted us with cool air temps and a very humid feel in the air. With no rain in sight or schedule till around noon time, anglers quickly disperse to so called prime areas. Dam area, along the shorelines, out in the middle and of course near the underpasses.
Once again....my hat goes off to all of the members that came out week in and week out to compete, bust some stones, win a couple of $$$, and just enjoy being out on the water amongst one another. A Big congrats to 1st Time Angler of Year winner Mr. Rob *Mr. International* Masterson Rob won this years title on the last day, fending off 2~3 other leading anglers. Rob, even with his Dad duties and International travels found a way to get out at prime times and get the job done.
Congrats on another back to back to back SJHT Iron Man Jiggen Den fishing in All 16 Tournaments in 2024.
Hell of a year Men!!!
See Stats in the Displayed Stat Sheet.
[b]Congrats to SJHT's Top 6 Anglers:
Rob M., Jiggen Den, Jackson Fu, Mike Del Monico, Pete Ingemi, and Bill L.
These guys are the epitome of putting in work on the water and excellence in character.....not too mention represent the Best of the Best Year after Year!
Alright....let's get to this weekends 2024 SJHT 2 Day Bass Classic. Today, 9 out of the 10 Qualifiers descended upon the Alloway Lake where it's a winner Take all event and the coveted 2024 SJHT Custom Bass Classic Championship Belt.
Although there were alot of cookie cutter size Bass caught and culled, the 15" min. requirement proved to be the difference maker on Day 1.
There were a total of 8 Bass caught giving way to a total of 23.29lbs. 6 out of 9 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. We only had 1 limit caught. Day 1 Lunker went a hefty 5.03lbs and was won by Pete *I like the Big Girls* Ingemi 5th place runner up to the 2024 AOY. . The overall avg. weight went 2.91lbs. Anchored by that Lunker Bass, Pete Ingemi was in 2nd place heading into Day 2 with 1 Bass weighing 5.03lbs. Bill Leach was the only angler to catch his min 3 Bass limit totallying 7.77lbs. His lunker went a decent 3.18lbs.
ALLOWAY LAKE Day#1 Tale of the Tape:
Bill Leach held a slim lead with 3 Bass going 7.77lbs. on Day#1:
[b]Pete *I like em Big* Ingemi caught 1 Bass going 5.03lbs
Mike Del Monico's 3rd place Day 1 standings: 4.82lbs
BN06 1 Keeper went 2.26lbs:
Jackson Fu's 3.20lb Catfish
Scott's S. Solo Keeper going 1.75lbs:
So with 3/4 of the field with 1 or more Bass, anglers still battled the elements of the mild wind and the light rain till the sun poked its head out from beneath the clouds.
So with the weather forcasted to be about the same with Tropical Depression Helene still out West, anglers knew the winds would pick up a bit and that it did on Day# 2.
"Finally....I can sleep at night" is the Title of the Day#2 Event. Where have I heard this before. LOL!!!
Place: COOPER RIVER PARK, Pennsauken, NJ
Time: 6:45am-2:45pm
Weather: Still Overcast with Air Temps hovering around 65 Degrees warming up to 69 Degrees. Light misty rain with a stronger breeze throughout the day.
Winds: 10-15mph most of the day
Water temps: 69.0~71 Degrees throughout
Water Clarity: Churned up from the previous days rains flowing through the gates and dam area. .5"~1.0 visability
Best Lure: Crankbaits and Jigs.
Depths fished: 3.5'~ 5.0''
Bass Limit: 3
-----------------------------------------
Day 2 at Cooper River Park...No one ever said numbers couldn't be had at this location... and less than 3 minutes into the Event... Jiggen Den gets to WORK!!!!
EXPEDITIOUSLY
There were nearly 3x the number of Bass caught on Day# 2, a total of 24 Bass caught giving way to a total of 45.05lbs compared to 23.29lbs on Day# 1. All 9 out of 9 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. Trappers 2 Bass went 3.97lbs:
On day where we held our Pizza, Hoagie, and Wing Fest, anglers at least got there belly's full after the weigh-in.
Summary: Congrats to Bill *The Hammer* Leach who put together 2 Days of great fishing to cull both days and finally WIN a SJHT Bass Classic Belt and pot. The "Finally....can sleep at night" has been answered. Job well done man! Bill has been after this Title for what seem like decades. With Janeen already with a Tag Team Belt along with son Justin, Bill can finally mount this in his Man cave with the Stipulation "2024 SJHT Bass Classic Champ". Go get some sleep Bill. LOL!

[b]To all of our members, guest, followers, and supporters, I personally Thank You! Couldn't ask for a greater group of guys to spend and do our weekend warrior thing on the water.
Rob and Scott...Thanks for holding things down in my absence: A Big Thank you to those guys helping run the weigh-ins smoothly.....So glad to be apart of this years 2024 SJHT Classic event. Congrats to Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino on his 3rd consecutive Iron Man Award. Congrats on the Most improved Anglers Pete Ingemi and Rob Masterson. A man is never to old to improve themselves. Congrats Men!!!
Some may say the weather was not ideal, but when is it actually picturesque? I felt the weather was perfect for this time of year and considering the last few years with torrential wind and rain, this was a walk in the park compared to other events.
Let's get ready for this years 2024 SJBCA Bass Bowl and celebrate with some BBQ Ribs! This year will be on the NorthEast River, MD out of Anchor Marine on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Congrats once again to Mr. Rob Masterson on winning his First 2024 AOY. Congrats to Mr. Bill Leach on winning his first 2024 SJHT Bass Classic....and of course Mr. Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino on finishing the year strong and winning his 3rd Back-To-Back-To Back SJHT Iron-man! Can't forget Mr. Mike Del Monico on his 2nd Consecutive 2024 SJHT Lunker of Year winner. Thanks again to all for making this year memorable once again.
