2015 SJHT Tag Team Champs Tournament...
BigNasty06
......Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Before the season passes us by and putting off the date\place of this year's event, I was considering either the Cooper River Tournament on 8/01/15 or the Stone Tavern date for holding our annual Tag Team Championship event.

What are your thoughts, opinions, and\or suggestions?

Shoot away!

I love the tag team event, its great to see how a random team can put together a plan and see the outcome, Why not Mercer?

Also wasn't the tag team tournament last year seperate from the regular schedule?

Either way im in, but if I had to choose between cooper and stone tavern id pick Cooper

I am fine with Cooper For tag team tour.

I'm not a huge fan of random drawing during the regular season because Im not crazy about potentially not being on my boat. Beside points...During the summer I sometimes only get to fish that one time a week and would prefer it to be my normal routine....as long as it's not required makes no difference to me though. Sorry, just my opinion.

Random drawing had a lame turnout last year (even I wasn't there...) I say just do like we did in 2011,2012,&2013. Normal points t, pair up with who u want to fish for the belts on the side. I know some people don't care for the belts. Either way, I want another belt, maybe a cape Cool

If be interested in using somewhere other than cooper cause we did it there in 2013, but I'm def not getting in that debate again lol.

Why was last year's random drawing a lame turnout?

Yea I guess 6 teams (12 people) is average, lame because I wasn't there of course, duhhhhhhIknow

I felt like we shyed a bunch of people away who either didn't want to be paired, didn't want to fish off someone else's boat, I heard a bunch of grumbles at the classic weigh in when we picked teams

Just my 2cents

No need to get a frog rod up ur arse @whitemikeproangler again I just stated my opinion. Random draw it up, but if it stays a points tournament there's others that won't be happy. I like fishing with other people, I thought the general consensus of the club was against random draw...I guess I was wrong

First 2 lines of that reply made me laugh so hard lmao..well played

In all seriousness though I can see how people would be against the random draw if it was a points tournament for AOY, but last year I think it was an entire different tournament. But then the year before at cooper the tag team T was part of the regular schedule, so I guess there is no pattern to break.

I just thought the random draw idea was really cool, you dont know whos getting paired up with who, and it sort of makes for an exciting group of teams. Yes each angler has different styles, therories, and ways of catching them, but I think thats the beauty of it, making the best out of the cards your dealt, no matter how different 2 anglers are.

Another possible option could be a team that fishes seperately for the day but weigh in their 5 heaviest fish for the day as a team at the weigh in.

The random draw was my idea last year, but I dont think it went over well. I heard a few people didnt show cause of it. Im down for whatever, during season, after season, open style... etc. I do think we should try to do it at a different location each year. We already did Cooper once.

fishintroop
I like the random draw. Gives members a chance to fish with guys they may not usually fish with

That doesn't sound like a bad ideal mike fishing seperately but combining fish at the end

Fishing separately would be fine but should be a no points tournament. It would be a bit confusing to know whose fish are in the bag and who is getting points for those fish, unless they are all tagged with culling lines and weighted in separately. Then the five heaviest fish would have to be weighted together. Am I making any sense?????????

Yes Dennis you are making sense.I was just thinking everyone would weigh there fish in that they caught like usual and then just add the teams weights together at the end idk just a thought don't really matter to me.

All good ideas. If the best 5 fish is confusing, whats to stop us from just doing best 6 fish from both anglers?
