Still tossing the idea around in my...
BigNasty06
Mind regarding the "Tag Team Anglers of the year".

Mind you, I still think it's a possibility. Whether it's a single elimination tournament apart of one of the regular club tournaments or an entire separate event.

The idea of drawing names from a Hat...I'm somewhat opposed to as we all have our own strengths, weakeness, speed, and preferences for fishing a certain way (and possibly with certain members). So don't think this is dead in the water and remember it's not mandatory that an angler or anglers partake in the event.

I just believe it would give those who share the same boat more than 50% of the time a chance to shoot for another Unique category!

Some of the issues\concerns stated at our 1st meeting were very good, but remember we all work under an HONOR system. If a particular boater say is catching the vast number of fish and his Co-Angler\Partner is S**tting the bed, then I would hope on face value alone, they would not be dividing up the 1st anglers keepers (in order to maximize that days total combine team weight category). I don't see that as an issue because outside of Tag Team Belts, there is no Monetary award for this category unlike say the SJHT Bass Classic Champion.

Either way I look at it, a Top-Points Tag Team member(s) that fishes primarily with the same person 6 out of the 12 Tournaments will be bestowed this years 2010 Tag Team AOY. (Besides, I already have one half of the Gold\Tan Belts as a prototype) which is vastly different from Jiggens Den's 2009 SJHT Bass Classic Belt).

I just felt those that were interested should be given the opportunity\choice in advance to pair up or choose other preferred members.

For those who primarily enjoys fishing alone, then this does not really effect you.

Just trying to keep things simple and enjoyable while still remaining competive and learning a thing or two from other seasoned veterans and new members.

I like the idea. As long as the usual honor system goes into our TXs it will be fine. Great added twist for those with a co/angler on board.

Members: Remember that our Newton Lake club tournament (i.e. also seen as the Mid-year Hoagie\Pizza Fest) is next Saturday, August 14, 2010. I will be bringing the food and beverages between 12pmish-12:30pmish.

We'll fish from 2pm till 9pm.

Note: As mentioned earlier in the season, this club event is being build as selecting\awarding this years inaugral 2010 SJHT Tag Team Champions. In order to be considered, an member should select and partner up with an existing member and fish from the agreed upon vessel.

For the new members and just to reiterate, Anglers individual Bass and weights will still count and be weighed separately. Thus, still accounting for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bonus points along with the top 2 total weight payouts and Lunker Pot. Culling Tags should be used to differentiate your bass from your partners Bass and Lunker Bass. At the end of the tournament, each anglers number of Bass and weights will be tally and combined to arrive at this years Inaugral 2010 SJHT Tag Team Champions.

Remember this is all for fun and way to possibly fish with other anglers we may normally not fish with. Outside of the normal 1st, 2nd, & Lunker Payouts, the winning Team will have bragging rights along with the 2010 SJHT Belts to show and hang on there mantle.

So begin thinking about a potential partner and lets make this happen.
