SJBCA Meeting Notes Wed. 02-19-2014

Good morning once again SJHT members and guest.

On Wednesday night, Feb. 19th, 2014 I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the 4th Ward Clubhouse...

At last nights meeting, the 2014 SJBCA Bass Bowl location was voted on and announced. The Susqehana Flats (out of Anchor Marine-NorthEast, MD) was the majority vote getter with 12 votes. This is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19th, 2014.

A big congrats goes out to Bill "The Hammer" Leach for his 3 Bass 9.03lbs weight caught at Assunpink Lake skillful angler award. Pictures and a plaque were taken of the other skillful angler awardees. Bill will get his picture taken at a later date.

There will be a NJ Fisheries and Wildlife Forum held at Batsto Village over at Wharton State Park this coming Saturday, Feb. 22nd, 2014. 10am-12pm. Light food and refreshments will be served.

Member Turnout was fantastic with 24 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.

- Youth Outdoor Life-Jackets for event in August 2014 are being sought.

WMA requested permits were submitted to Chris Smith. Should be mailed or emailed to individual clubs.[/b]

Audit Committee- New committee was form to include: Stu Cohen, John Sullivan, and Mike Riordan.
Report on the status of the Audit

Scholarship Committee:
- Carmen Bersani , MaryAnne Franchetta, and Me

- Friday, Feb. 21, 2014- Email faxes, and flyers of the 2014 SJBCA Application and guidelines to be sent out to various South & Central Jersey Public and Parochial schools. Guidance counselors should pass down to students.

* Copies of the 2014 Applications will also be available at the SJBCA Fishermen Flea market to be held on Sat. March 1, 2014 at the Millville Elks Club.

Last year we had an overwhelming response. For 2014, we're hoping to have an even better response.

[b]There are 5 Key categories scored upon: 1. Academics; 2. Major\Minor of Study. 3. Written Essay; 4. Recommendation letters; 5. Overall score on a 5 Point Scale. (i.e. 1= Least; 3=Average; 5=Outstanding)


Flea Market Committee: Carmen Bersnai, Joe Hoban, Al Franchetta, & MaryAnne Franchetta
* Recieved up to 50 paid vendors for table rentals for the March 1, 2014.
* Finalizing Plans with volunteer help, arrival times, door security, and helping vendors unload there stuff.

CLUB Business:
* $18 Trailer Registration Fee *

Youth Fishing Activities:
* Nothing new to add

Tournament and Lake News:
* Tournament news and conflicts
* Lake Updates[/b]

Association Business:
* Nothing New to Add.

Old Business:
* Nothing New to add

New Business:
*Award winners of annual youth activity awards and fishing excellence awards, Bass Bowl, and activity point volunteers. I recieved my 1st SJBCA Offical volunteer Jacket with name and club insigna on upper right chest area. Yeah!!! yayyy

*Vote on Location of the 2014 Bass Bowl
*Review annual budget
* Vote on new club applying for membership (Backwoods Bassers)
