On Wednesday night, I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the 4th Ward Clubhouse for there annual Holiday Party and meeting...
At last nights meeting, the 2014 conflict list submissions were discussed and some clubs (Not ours) still have some dates to work out.
Al Franchetta mentioned that nominations for Angler excellence and youth activity forms are being accepted now till the next January 2014 meeting.
I submitted and nominated Jackson for the Lunker of the Year award and Bill Leach for his 3 Bass weight caught at Assunpink Lake. There are some other categories that I'm investigating some of our members elegibility, but based on the specific lakes referenced in the application form and some of the 2 Man Team vs. single angler entry process, I'm trying to get further clarification If I'll be able to submit other potential candidates. Since we don't have 5-Bass Limit or any members that say may have done well in a SJBCA affiliated club sponsored event\Tournament, right now that category was left blank from my submission.
Alright in other news and some may already know this, there is a planned Cooper River Dredging Project to begin sometime the beginning of July 2014. Apparently there will be no boat launching allowed once it begins. The route 130 overpass and thru passage will not be completed till sometime in 2015. There's also word that the Island over where Top Rod normally host there annual July Open Buddy Tournament, there is going to be a foot bridge erected to the mainland which would probably prohibit or make it very difficult to get back into that small fishing cove.
Turnout was decent with 14 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.
