Happy Labor Day everyone!!!! Where has the season gone?
Well, as SJHT anglers make there final push towards the end of the 2009 season and qualifying for our season ending Bass Classic, Old timers and rookies are trying to solidify there points standings.
Today, I had the luxury of working the onshore Detail while everyone else got to get to the so-called sweet DoD spots!!! Yeah right!!! LOL!! This was one of my catches...
Fish went about 1.50lbs but here is another one with video!!!!
Okay enough of that!!! Trying to regain some of that magical 2007 AOY Title and coming to the scales with a 3 bass limit weighing 2.84lbs, Let's give a big Congrats to Dennis "Jiggen Den" T. for taking 1st place at DoD Today!2nd Place was won by rookie member and 1st time in the $$$ winner Layne "Basser995" E. for also bringing 3 Bass weighing 2.81lbs. Third Place was won by that guy Jimbo with 2 bass weighing 2lbs even. Continuing his positioning in the money column is last weeks Assunpink winner Hal B. with Lunker weighing 1.75lbs!!! Way to go Men! I think I could have taken 2nd Place from land!!!
Jiggen Den's 1st place 2.84lbs:
Layne's 2nd Place 2.81lbs:
Jimbo's 3rd Place 2lbs:
Hal's 1.75lb Lunker winner:
DoD Tale of Tape:
As one can tell by the number of bass caught, there were no whoppers caught today. Anglers reported catching many cookie cutter size bass ranging from 6" up to 11.75" but nothing that would make one lose sleep over. Wait a minute...Jimbo reported having a good one on but his netman and eventual Lunker winning angler Hal missed the fish as it swam towards the boat!!! I guess S**T happens!! DoD lake was definitely tough today. Some anglers threw Kreature type baits with no love in response. The Bass were really no where to be found out deep. They were not even on some of the wood structure in the back that so many anglers depend on catching a few keepers. I notice when the wind increased the bites got better and better. Throwing finesse worms in the various shades of color yielded dink size bass and a couple of keepers. I believe the bass were scattered throughout the lake because not one repeated cast gave up any consistant pattern. DoD is one of the lakes that can be good but for us, over the last 2-3 years, it has been really, really tough. I know having a tough bite is apart of the challenge, but we may look at fishing the Co-op for 2010!!! :-> Just kidding FD!!
Honorable mention catches:
Dinks R us with a .67lber!!!! Bill L.
I wonder what's up with the smile!!! I would be crying!!! LOL!!
Only 4 more regular club season Tournaments left in the 2009 SJHT season! Who's going to walk away with this years SJHT Title!! Time will tell.
