All I want to know is what happen to the abundant grass that once filled Sweedes Lake? What's up with that?
and what's up with this guy...throwing another Marker Buoy once again (i.e. Yellow one this time)!!
Well all I know and Moe can be my witness, I had good 3lber on 10 minutes into the tournament on a Smoke Chrome Rattletrap cast towards a certain dock and before I could start reeling in...the fight was on. Finally getting control of the situation and the bass nearing the boat, I go to bend down and grab the net and as soon as I go to scoop her in.. she does a Shinner body shake (2inches near the water surface) and shes GONE!!!! I'm like WTF just Happen? Moe being only 25 yards away almost cried for me!!! Oh well I guess S**T Happens!!! That would have won me Lunker and 2nd place looking at the Tale of the Tape. Go Figure!!!
Alright...SJHT hosted there 11 club tournament of the year and we had 18 members come out on a very tough day. Following the torrential rain, Lightening, and Thunderstorms from Friday evening, the water was somewhat dingy and stained.
Typically there is alot of grass along the various spots at this place but neither Tboe, Moe, nor any others (maybe Bass Hopper) found the decent runway. Anglers caught various species from nice and healthy perch to small Bass dinks. Still feeling the effects of losing that earlier keeper, this is how the rest of my day went!!!!
Without further adieu, a big congratulations goes out to Brian *Bass Hopper* Suthard for taking 1st place and catching a limit of 3 Bass going a Whopping 3.56lbs. Second could have been me...but I bowed to Wayne "Moe" Sr. who took 2nd Place and Lunker with 1 Bass going 1.89lbsThird Place was taken by Brian P. with 1 Bass going 1.02lbs. Way to figure them somewhat out Men!!! I think? LOL!!!

What more can I say? We had a good turnout.
The weather although very hot and sunny seem to be okay. Heck, we even had some lake residents come out and warn us to stay 50 feet away from fishing there docks. That was classic. It reminded me of the guy at Rainbow lake who swored he owned that portion of the water. LOL!!!
I can't really report on any really patterns develop...although the winner reported catching his 3 keepers using a 4" Fish Doctor type of plastic worm rigged on a 1/8oz weight. Using the dropshot technique, I picked up a couple of dinks but nothing comparable to my initial early morning loss fish. I still can't sleep...hence the somewhat late report.
Next week, we visit one of favorite fisheries in Stone Tavern and look for another solid turnout.
