----------------------------------------------------- Spoiler Alert: Gonna try something a bit different....especially since the Fu man was away playing on the Potmac River. Instead of the normal flow and winners along with the Tale of the Tale, I'm gonna honor those that did not catch a Bass in the Intro and then give Mad props to 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place finishers. LOL!!!
I'll begin by saying I'm now 0-3 on the relatively new SJHT 2013 Season. You got it!!! Not even a keeper bass but for those interested, the Squan still looks like this....
The Ranger station in the far distance has some new faces but are still very helpful..
Even after Hurricane Sandy rolled through, there are still some standing timber...
First off, I would like to thank all 20 SJHT anglers for coming out and braving the Squan and the many ugly faces it can present. Shout Outs goes to everybody that Skunked today.....including yours truley.... ME!!! LOL!!
I would list the rest of the anglers, but it's way too long...See the Tale of the Tape section.
Heading into Week#3 of our mysterious season, the below avg. water temps combine with air temps hovering around 32 degrees most evenings, have put the Bass in such a state that they don't know whether it's Spring or still Winter. Anglers tossed the kitchen sink at the Squan today and only some were rewarded.
Alright since most of you have already fast-forwarded to the bottom for the results, I'll stop the BSing just for you. LOL!!
Tale of Tape:
3rd Place Went to: Kyle *WallHanger* S. with 1 Bass weighing 3.28lbs.
(No- Pic Taken..... My bad!!!!)
2nd Place and Lunker went to Dan *Crappie Jon* F. with 2 Bass weighing 9.30lbs and Lunker going a Whopping 5.83lbs!!!!
The Beast on the Golden Ruler...
Dan...acting like he just won the SJHT Bass Master Classic... Note: The smile from cheek to cheek!!!
1st Place winner Jay *SmellyHooker* N. by the narrowest of margins .05oz
Pics of the weighing in.....
We had a total of 20 anglers come out to "GET SOME" AND YET AGAIN WE LEFT WITH OUR TAILS BETWEEN OUR NUTS! Here yet again there were a total of 5 bass caught for a total of 21.93lbs. Avg bass size was 4.39lbs.
Anglers, once again, found it very tough to develop any type of pattern. Small pick ups for some but Nada for most.
Congrats to the Fish Slayers and those members who keep battling week in and week out!!! Your participation is greatly appreciated and every dog has its day!!!
See you all next week for our 4th Club tournament Rainbow Lake..
Yesterday was a crazy day to say the least lol. While we were waiting to take our boats out at the end of the tx, I see Dan and ask him ig he got any fish. He said yea I got 2, one is about 3.5lbs and the other is like 2lbs. Knowing my fish is only like 3lbs I say, "well u got me beat, congrats". when I told him that I saw Jay catch 2 fish that were both like 4lbs, he got discouraged. So after we take our boats out, I walk over to Dan and ask if I can see his fish. As we walk to his livewell he says, "the fish shrunk alittle", in a disappointEd voice. I look in the livewell and see an absolute toad. I said "bro, that is at least a 4.5-5lb fish lol. He looks surprised and says, "I've never caugh a 5lber ever, and I've never weighted in a fish bigger then 3.83lbs in a tx". Ill never forget the look on Dan's face when he saw the weight of his lunker lol. He said, "does that say 5??". I just thought I would share this story, because it is something that I will soon not forget lol.
Congrats Dan, on your 1st 5lb bass ever and your 1st bass over 4 lbs in a tx. Oh, and also on taking 2nd and lunker and also lunker of the year. On the ride home yesterday, all my brother kept saying was, "i'm gonna get my lunker of the year back". I told him good luck, cuz that's one hell of a fish to beat lol.
A Big congrats to Dan on an absolute Monster! and his 2nd fish not shabby at all!!! Congrats to Jay on an awesome bag and taking first place by ounces! I knew you would come back being fishless on the first 2 tourn. Way to go Jay. And congrats to Kyle on his very nice fish. The Serduk brothers always seem to find some fish to bring to the scales!!! Nice going guys!!! I am in 0-3 club!!! Worst ever for me since I started club tourns. Oh well still had a blast fishing with everyone. I won't be at Rainbow, but good luck to all and hope the water temps rise for you guys!
Thanks fellas, and congrats to jay on the win it was a great finish. While I was crusin back to the ramp I knew ud have fish. I thought I had like 7 lbs total. I never really took the time to look at my fish I just got them in the well as quick as possible. Explains why it's back was out of the water and it couldn't turn around lol. See everyone at rainbow
"2nd place is just the first loser"
Unbelieveable lol....congrats toi Dan and Jay on those fish..its very dissapointing for me to drive all this way without one single bite..I knew I shouldve stayed in the wood...at about 10 o clock i ran to the dam and fished the grass in the transition area from hard to soft bottom...I ripped a binsky and tube through it without one smallmouth bite for about 3 1/2 hours....but hey I guess thats bass fishing
