What a way to get back into the swing of things after not being able to fish father's day weekend. The weather seemed perfect. No rain and no reminders from our last visit back in April 2009...but something was definitely off at the U today!!! Can you say tough bite!!!
Today, 19 SJHT members came out to recreate the fantastic smallie bite of just over 2 months ago. What we expected and what we actually got almost required us to have bad weather and crazy winds. Morning bite started off somewhat ok, but everything caught by myself were in the dink category or along these lines....
Weather I believe was actually too perfect...if that can actually be...
Okay...enough of the reminescing...LOL!! A Big congratulations goes out to the Man, the Myth, and the 2008 SJHT Classic Champ Terry "TboeBass" for weighing in 3 Smallies going 3.27LBS. Second place and Lunker was won by new rookie member Tim with 1 LMB going 3.09lbs. Third place and participating in only his second club tournament was Rob "Ram1212" with 1 LMB going 3.01lbs. Rob...just barely missed taking the Lunker pot by .09oz. Congrats guys for catching your keepers!!!

As one can guestimate from these results, either the bass were either still in a non-eating funk or the rest of us just suck!!!! LOL!! This place is really a mystery for many of us. I may need to request the services of Rod Bender Mike or the Fish Devil!!!! Alright....all in all the air, water, wind, and bright skys all seemed to be ideal, but these fish were scattered all throughout the water columns. I believe Tboe ran into a school of his Smallies, while other catchers ran quite some ways to find there keepers. For those that revisited the areas they had caught them back in April 2009, some had luck while most had nothing to show for there short journey down memory lane.
