I'm awoken in the morning by my cellie blow'n up with a text from Phillyfisherman. The Canadian Guide is offering his services this grand morning! So without delay I hit the bat phone and make the call. The "Great one" answers and informs me he is hitting the Public Puff at 10am! So after some traffic diversions I meet Tboe at the covered bridge and we roll. This being my first time on the PP I was excited! so excited I leave my lunch in the car.
We launch and off we go. "Uncle terry" explains what baits we will be using today and what colors work best! So without delay I start chucking and winding. It dosen't take long to hook up, unfortunetly its of the toothy persuasion. This is a Birthday Bass trip right? Then the "old man of the sea" starts putting on a clinic! He hammers three bass in just a few minutes. Pulling them out of the thick stuff... All I manage to do at this point is get hung up on anything and every thing. Nothing to big but solid little fish.
We make a little run and I finally get on the board with my best fish of the day! not a giant, but a solid thick one! First fish I've ever caught that had a tag on it, unfortunetly it was so corroded we couldn't make out any #'s.
Now it was on! We where pulling fish without a lull all day! We lost a few in the wood and I even picked one up on the trap! Tboe hooked a nice solid chunk, but we never found the big ones...
This one was our best of the day.
I would like to thank My guide for a great Birthday trip! I couldn't have asked for a better day! Only thing missing was a candle in my crustable, and a 6 or 7 pounder! ...
