Lets just say the Romans were not available to do the meet and greet at the always good Stone Tavern, but these guys mentioned something about there missing 1/2 brother last seen down at Parvin and Union Lake respectively. LOL!!!

and No...Tboe didn't fish this tournament!!! LOL!!

Today's SJHT Stone Tavern Tournament kicked off with 19 Club members and 1 Guest coming out to find StoneHenge!!!. Once safe light arrived around 5:50am, we all jet setted around the Tavern numerous times to count

There were 6 Limits caught. 27 Largemouth Bass brought to the scales. 13 out of 20 Anglers weighed in fish. Total combine weight of fish were 34.36lbs giving an avg. weight of 1.27lbs per bass.

Once again, there were so many 11"~11.75ers" caught here that most anglers thought they were at "Smallworld at Disney World". The idea of avoiding those smaller bass and getting to the big girls seem very elusive for most including myself. I didn't catch my 1st keeper till 9:44am. That came long the Northern area not too far from the spillway DSing a wacky rig Pumpkinseed 4" worm. The crankbait seem to be working earlier in the day but quickly faded in favor of lure easily retrieved through the grassy areas.

These Stone Tavern bass seem to be where they were suppose to be this for this time of year, but the Quality in size left a bitter pill to swallow. My 2 keepers were caught where certain depths drop off fairly quickly and retrieved through the grassy areas!!

Here is what the field looked like as anglers settled in for the long day....

Without further adieu, please give a big congratulations to current SJHT VP Jay *SmellyHooker* N. for weighing in 3 Bass weighing 6.52lbs and Lunker going 2.59lbs. Second place goes to Mr. consistancy and vying for another AOY Title Brian "Bass Hopper S." for weighing in 3 Bass going 4.64lbs.. Third Place went to Chris *5BigGirls* D. for weighing in 3 Bass going 4.46lbs. Way to battle out there fellas and or returning Guest Austin. Glad you were nice enough to be a guest once again and to all for another great turnout!!!

Here's the Official Stone Tavern Tale of the Tape:

Other Notable Catches:

Jiggen Den's catch:

Jimbo's catch:

Ish..BN's Monroe's catch:

Note: Many anglers elected to hurry up and get there catches back in the water..thus the reduction in number of pics taken.

Looking at the Tale of the Tape, one can see anglers for the most part catching bass, however the overal weights seem a bit skewd to reflect a downward qualitative trend. Compared to seasons past. one could easily catch more than 6.52lbs and still not be in the money. Go Figure!!!!

Thanks to all of our members and our 1 guest for venturing a bit of ways from somewhat our home base. Members should truly be able to relate to what our Central Jersey Bros.\anglers deal with when fishing our South Jersey puddles. LOL!!!

Stone Tavern has always been a good numbers body of water. Typically...someone always figures them out and what action\color of lures the bass want. Today, Jay put on a clinic with that special lure of his while everyone around him watched him as he clamped the hand cuffs on those bass!!! Congrats again Jay, B-Hopper, and Chris on sifting through and being patience out there.

See you in 1 week at Newton Lake

Great job all, sorry I bailed early but as some of you know my wife has a seizure disorder and Wednesday she had multiple seizures and we were at the er for a while. After 12 she was alone at home so I had to cut out.

Bob...Totally understandable! No problem at all! I wish her the best as she and the doctors try to find answers as to what is causing those seizures...

Outside of a dinkfest, many guys reported catching numerous 11'~11.75"er's out there.

If I was not having fun checking out various old spots, I would have relaxed over at the boat ramp. LOL!! yayyy

Congrats to the winners. Stone is tough this time of year.

Congrats to Jay for winning and all the fish catchers. Not sure what happened over there Saturday but the Stone and I are officially not speaking. Been over here for 3.5 years and have never had a day like that out there. Anyway, I am glad it didn't happen to anyone who made the long trip.

I to am sorry to cut out early. I had a case of poison sumac and towards the end the heat/sweat became unbearable for me. I'm all dried up and better now, but that sucked to have for my favorite TX location.

See you guys next week!

Kyle
hey Rob i'm glad that poison sumac is clearing up, cuz it looked nasty on Saturday. anyway, congrats to all the money makers and those that put some keepers in the boat.

ram1212
