Note: WARNING... Somewhat long and with pics...so you have been warned.
Having been back for a couple of days late last week and frollicking in the 100 Plus degree weather here back in Jersey, I figured all good vacations and time off must come to an end. Last year, my Family Reunion was in Thomasville, GA...so I left Myrtel Beach, SC a day or so early and flew into Tallahasse, FL to partake in those festivities.
This year....Tampa, FL was the hosting location....so I was determine to finally experience some Gulf water fishing.
View from Marriott Sand and Spa resort in Clearwater Beach, FL 8th Floor suite.
Now...this is where my highlight comes in. Since Momma Nasty was also making the trek from North Jersey and attending this years Family reunion, I did a Tboe and Gell and threw out the offer for Mom to join me for her 1st time on a fishing trip. Here are some views as we departed the Causeway #52 area and Momma posing..
After giving her instructions of not accidentally hooking herself and the operation of the rod\reel, I told her I was a professional and This is how I get down....
Moms 1st catch:
Between the two of us...20 Plus Grey Snappers, 1 Sea Bass, 1 Red Snapper
Menu and Chef onboard the Queen Fleet:
Coming Back towards shore...jetskiers and Clearwater Beach skyline...
Fillet station and anglers catch on stringers:
Bonus pic and Red Snapper with Grandma in background looking on:
Food Shots coming later but in the mean time, grandma was so impressed with our catch that she busted out her Fishing Setup.... Now, I've seen Shinndaddy's 8' Rods and NJv's Rods....but I can't remember ever seeing anything like Grandma had.....
Here are a couple of snapshots of grandma's gear
All 20' of rearing back and swinging them onto land without a Reel!!!! Can you say No-Net Needed!
Family Reunion plaque presented to hosting person:
Me and younger Bro. outside Kin folks crib:
Alright......this was as much fishing that I had time for. Even though, I had packed a 2-piece spinning rod\reel setup, I found myself not having\finding the time to venture out to Lowery Park, the Hillsborough River, or any other puffs close to the Family Reunion Hotel back in the Tampa area.
This leads me to my WTF or BS section I came across while visiting a Kin folk out in the Plant City area. You know a cousin and his spouse that you have not seen and barely heard from almost over 20 Plus years ago. Well moms, me, and my brother along with his wife gets invited for dinner and to check them out.... Well everyone knows BN loves his people even if I come across a sign posted in there bathroom stating...Well you be judge. LOL!!!
A view from a distance:
I still have to chuckle when I view that message....and mind you they have no young children or really grandchildren for that matter... Boy... my mom's peoples!!!! LOL!!!
Gotta love seeing chit like that.....
Oh the food shots....Well after being a bit disappointed in our Kin folks suppose to be BBQ Ribs, Chicken on the grilled, salad, and etc. in the mosquito infested backyard, I had to call Grandma up and say "Can you please hook us up on the fish I caught on Friday". Without a beat, Grandma Nasty had this prepared for breakfast before flying back to Philly and Newark, respectfully!!! OMG!!! Talking about fricking delicious!!! You be the judge...
To wrap things up... I have to give mad props to the women who first took me fishing as a kid and who I still catch hell from everytime I tell her I practice Catch and Release. LOL!!! Before I'm even able to get the last word Release out... I feel a swift kick in the arse and slap to the face coming. Grandmomma Nasty!!!!
This was just part of my mini-summer getaway. Between Wildwood and seeing the play "Joseph" out in Lancaster, PA, I did get the opportunity to fish the Squan this past weekend.
Hope you enjoyed,

Looks and sounds like a great vacation BN. Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope you get Momma Nasty's genes. She looks like she could be your younger sister
Boy BN you were like those movie stars who can change their outfits in seconds!!! Looks like you had a ball with the family! I think we can officially call you the "Plaque Master"!! Nice photo's, looks like Mom had a great time too!
