This is only Preliminary. 1 more tournament maybe added but keeping with timeframes (i.e. The open\Close Bass season, the Tight month of July, Fishing almost every weekend in August, While leaving Labor Day weekend open in September), we would then be pushing into October for closing the season. Having the SJHT Bass Classic in October on the Canal...could cause issues relating to the Hunters and possibly getting shot.

The typical Newton afternoon\night tournament would have been on a Sunday. I don't think members want to have to rush home and get ready for work on Monday after a Sunday night tournament. We can change times of when we have a certain tournament but the days are somewhat harder due to other SJBCA choosing those dates.

Remember...this is only preliminary. After last nights meeting, we got pretty our Annual Union Lake Open Buddy tournament date, along with the requested WMA's bodies of water.

The only change with that was swamping the Rainbow July 10 date for say Stewarts April 9 dates. Another club chose Rainbow July 10....so I had to quickly move Rainbow up earlier or risk not having it on the schedule around the ideal time we would like.

Stay tuned....More to Come!

Btw... The other Lake considerations were DareTown and Lake Lenape.

Daretown has been good to most with good size and quantities of Bass but might fish small with a large # of boats attending.

Lake Lenape would be a totally new Lake but they have key weekends (i.e. Saturdays) blocked during the months of April going into the Bass Closed Season with Power Boats and Yachting types of event. If one has an outboard powered above say 15hp then one would have to show proof of insurance along with $$ amount.

Quick Update:

Looks like we got pretty much every date and lake submitted, however the 2011 Bass Classic dates will be moved up to the Saturday\Sunday September 17th & 18th weekends.

We had a conflict with 2 other clubs for the original 24th & 25th dates. Instead of breaking the 2 day Classic over 2 weekends, I figured it was easier to just move it the original Open Date we had in September and let the ball fall where it may.

I'm really considering adding 1 Paper tournament in the month of say late April or May, but I must seek everyone's input (SJHT members) before even asking the SJBCA for possible open dates. I believe it's doable but we would have to be in agreement in taking correct measurements and weights.

I just can't stand sitting around in May and June waiting for the season to re-open.

Okay...I'll keep everyone updated.

Peace,

If we have a paper tourn. make it mandatory that there be two people per boat.

Im down with a paper tourny, but we will have to hammer out the details. Everyone will need a scale and camera on board??

Another quick note I somewhat left out.

At last weeks meeting, Big Fred had been alerted that Fish and Game (i.e. Chris Smith out of the Oaks Pond WMA Office) was going to allow 5 overall paper tournaments to be held on Lake Audrey. But the catch was that it had to be before or after the Closed Bass Season. With that said and our Lakes somewhat already picked\discussed earlier, there was really no room to somewhat jump on this Paper tournament till we locked down the dates of our Previously discussed WMA's selected Lakes. (Note: For those that did not know, Lake Audrey is a WMA Lake)

I'm thinking for 2012, that Lake Audrey will definitely be on our schedule as a equilavent body of water.

Jiggen Den and Rob... I'm in agreement in that it should be buddy\co-angler style with rules\measurements\weights discussed before hand.

More info. to follow..

I was at Lake Lenepe last week and they are working on the dam, so 2011 might not be the best year to go there anyway.

Looks good, paper T would be good, it should be a buddy T look
forward to it .thumbup

If you can get all the red tape out of the way- Lenape would be GREAT! I would say that the club lunker will come from that lake!

Basser995
Another great job in putting together a fishing season- thanks BN

Kyle
I would have to agree with Basser995, if we could get a tourny at Lenape right after the closed season (early june) i will put money on it that there will be at least a couple of 3 fish bags that go 12lbs. my personal best came out of Lenape in june 2009. I know there is a lot of b.s. involved in getting a tourny there but i definitly think its worth a shot

I understand the Red-Tape pertaining to Lenape, especially with the Higher output engines and the $$ amount of insurance one must carry. I plan on talking more to BigFred (because his club actually fishes there) regarding who to actually speak with over at the Lenape Office.

The month of April 2011 is pretty much unavailable due to the Cigar boat races and PowerSports events on the weekends. If push comes to shove and depending on availability, we may have to swap say Newton Lake or Stewarts for say Lenape....but I'll keep everyone informed once I actually get all the facts. Seeing how, Newton Lake has fished poorly this past year, I don't think too many members would argue for maybe removing Newton....but we'll see. Either way, I think it should be held during the regular open Bass season and see actual numbers and bass weighed in at the scales.

Greetings fellow SJHT members and visitors,
I hope cabin fever has not got the best of you dealing with these cold temperatures, frozen lakes, and now a potential new snow storm coming in on Wednesday.

Quick update: I've been trying to get ahold of Big Al to schedule our 1st mandatory meeting for Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 at 8pm at our normal

Voorhees NJ firestation
2002 South Burnt Mill Road,
Voorhees Township, NJ 08043-3607

If this location is not available, then a secondary location might be a local library (i.e. Winslow Public Library or another recommendation). Once I get in touch with Big Al, I'm hoping to nail down the location by the end of this week.

Note: The revised updated 2011 Rules and regs.

I'll be updating everyone on last weeks SJBCA Monthly meeting later on tonight or tomorrow.

Note: Give a Big Congrats to 2010 AOY Bill "The Hammer" Leach on securing SJBCA's Best 3 Fish limit weighing 10lbs at Parvin State Park award. It will be presented at the Wed. Feb. 16, 2011 meeting to be held at the BRRC ClubHouse in Bellmawr, NJ
