Welcome to Event#8 at Cooper River Park.
On Saturday, 11 SJHT finest came out to battle down at Cooper River. Knowing that sometimes the water level flucuates and the forecasted strong winds, anglers knew it was gonna be a day of all days. Well....except me. I must had overlooked the weather app as I had no idea it was gonna get that windy.
Shall we proceed!!!
The Coop is typically good for numbers and occasionally may throw a 4+lber at you. Well, there were plenty of bass caught today, however the quality that found my line\lure was undersized for most. Plenty of dinks but a little difficult to catch a 12".
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to Brian *Wind Blown* McCulley who took 1st and Lunker by weighing in 3 Bass weighing 7.91lbs . Brian's Lunker went a nice 3.60bs. 2nd Place was won by Paul *Power Pole Down* Tinges with 3 Bass going 6.66lbs. . 3rd Place was won by Rob *Call me Crappie* Masterson with 3 Bass going 5.27lbs. Miscellaneous was also won by Rob Masterson with a .46lbs Crappie. Edging out Brian's .44lb Mean Mouth.

Summary: Cooper River Park always seems to throw anglers a curve ball. Whether its the huge snakeheads, catfish, or catching the elusive tiger muskie, everyone can attest to the fact that the fishing was tough at times but using the wind to ones advantage was key for most. i try to insert nuggets of wisdom in each of my reports so take what you may and always observe the environment around you. Bass were in all depths of the water colum. Anglers caught them near submerged branches, some up against the shoreline, while others concentrated on deep pockets that were wind blown but not really visible to the eye but seen on the graph. After nearly calling it a wrap at around 12:30pm, I tried hiding from the wind and was BSing getting ready to head in early when I just casted past a tree and BAM....my final keeper was on board. Hence....one never knows what's lurking nearby.
In All, all 7 out of 11 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were 20 Bass caught overall. COOPER RIVER gave way to total of 36.82lbs caught overall. The avg. weight was 1.84lbs
Overall.... 6 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.
Congrats to Brian, Paul, and Rob on your performances.
Next up is the SJHT Tag Team Club Only Championship at ..... ASSUNPINK LAKE In 3 weeks.
