In case nobody noticed I've been on vacation for the past week and like the Chairman of the Board Frank Sinatra I was belting out the tunes.
Monday found me on the river with our very on Gell smacking the brownies and busting bawlz like it was our job. Water temps started at 58 and rose to 63 by days end. Fish were on the beds and we took advantage and boated 90. Power Team Crawl D'oeuvre's, 3.5 TRJ's and 3.5 food chain tube ruled the day for me.
Tuesday found the water temps the same and the bass were still bedding but it was a damp and chilly day for us. Still managed to boat 67. Mrs. Tboeski even got in on the act and boated several nice smallies on the Food Chain tube. I did my damage on a combo of Power Team lures and a jerkbait.
Wednesday water temps again stayed the same but the bite began to change. Started spotting fry near the beds but the bass seemed to want a moving bait so out came the spinner and later in the day my Precision Tackle Buzz Jet Jr started getting some love. Let me tell you nothing beats catching smallies on that lure. Pure power in those top water hits. Ended the day with 60 bass.
Thursday was hot and sunny with water temps that got up to 65. I was still feeling that top water rush from the previous day so I started throwing the Buzz Jet Jr at the beds and to my surprise the females were on them and the party started. So I decided to up the ante and put the Daggord on and the fish couldn't get enough of it. Straight retrieve, ripping it like a wood chopper or just letting it sit in the backwater eddy's with a slight twitch all produced fish. It was fitting that these fish were smacking these lures since I was wearing my Japanese fish Id shirt. Numbers of fish went down to 53 but quality of fish was over the top.
Friday the bottom fell out of the market and the fishing was tougher than tough. It was hot muggy and miserable.Very few fish on the beds and they were just nipping at the top water baits. We did manage to get a few slobs and Mike poked a 42" Muskie on a spinner. He tells me to get the net and I'm like phuck that you're net is to small so I told Mike let me show you how us Jersey boyz do it and landed him with my hand.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Mike is a guides guide So if you get the chance book a trip. Well gotta run and remember " I did it my way " :D
Power Team Pigs
Let the topwater games begin
Mixed bag Power Team/Spinners /Chatter Bait & Buzz Jet
Nice report along with details and pictures to go with!!!
With those types of numbers on a Daily basis, I'm surprised you wasn't calling ShinerKing and BassBoss for more reinforcements on those lures.
Note: For those unfamiliar...and this goes out to Jiggen Den,PowerTeam Lures can be found on our Main Home page at the bottom. Bob "BassBoss" is great to order from and he tends to throw in some unreleashed Plastic prototype lures "not yet on the market" in addition to you normal requested products.... so your business is definitely appreciated.White Mike....here is your opportunity to get some of those TRJ's I gave you.
Tboe...it seems you've had alot of fun in the sun over the last week....and here I thought catching little bass down near Hammonton was a blast!!!
Fantastic week on the Susky!!!
