BAM!
Talk about a sun rise! Well today, I believe the weathermen got it right. LOL.. As SJHT restarts the NJ 2018 Open Bass Season, we're reminded of the fact that Fish and Game will be very active as more and more tournament anglers populate there local water ways with tournaments and make spontaneous vehicle\Boat checks, PFD's, and boating credentials verifications.
Today, the bass were very active earlier on with some lulls as the Mid-Day Sun got overhead. There were a ton of sub-par 15" Bass caught. This let us know that at least the mid size Bass to larger ones were still in a feeding mood.
Upon arriving at the Assunpink Lake Boat parking Ramp, I was one of the 1st one there as I know others live not too far from there.
Today, 14 SJHT members and 1 guest came out to get there PINK on...what we found was a tough to catch a 15"er or better Bass..
Please give a big shout out to Third tournament in a row Rob "Good to crawl out of bed and still make the Tournament within 5 mins from my crib. for taking 1st place with 3 Bass weighing an impressive 7.69lbs. 2nd Place was won by Brian "I stayed focused and to the game plan* M. with 1 Bass going 5.44lbs. Brian's Bass also took the Lunker. 3rd Place was won by Bill *The Hammer " L. with 2 Bass going 4.12lbs. Miscellaneous was won by Bill *Troop* C. with a Pickeral going 2.70lbs.

6 out of 15 Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 10 Bass caught overall giving way to a total of 26.57 lbs. The avg. weight of each Bass went 2.66lbs. down from our last tournament out of Anchor Marine where 2.84lbs was the avg.
Congrats to all of the check cashiers.
Next up is [b] MERRILL CREEK in 1 Week which allows SJHT members to seek some revenge from last year. There were many Big Bass broken off and anglers are anxious to get back there.
