What would a Thursday tournament be without a little Fire and explosions to get your heart pumping. (Photo's and video courteous of Brian M.)

Well upon launching and getting to certain favorable spots, anglers including myself noticed a HUGE bloom of heavy dark smoke and fire coming from near Anchor Marine. We all thought it could be possibly one of our vehicles or worst anchor marine itself. To our dismay, it was over at the adjacent park where a delivery box truck had caught on fire.
See article.....

Well after being a little distracted, anglers continued to forge ahead in getting any types of bites. It definitely seemed like the Bass were a bit finicky and jaw tight in the early AM, however as the morning went along, they began to bite a little more. Catching between 12" to 14.75" was not the problem. Anything above the 15" Requirement was the problem.
Today, 14 SJHT members came out to battle and had Anchor Marine and the NorthEast pretty much all to ourselves. The weather forecast was a little off in that we got the rain earlier than expected in the later part of the AM. There were a lot of Sub 15" Bass caught. Anglers also caught other species for the Miscellaneous but Boom goes the Dynamite!
Without further adieu....Please give a big shout out to Rob "I really like Fishing on Thursday's* M for taking 1st place and Lunker with 3 Bass weighing a Whopping 13.67lbs. Rob's Lunker went a Humongus 6.20lbs.. 2nd Place was won by Dan *I tried for the Hat Trick* F. . with 3 Bass going 10.04lbs. Dan's Lunker went 5.09lbs. 3rd Place was won Trooper with [b]3 Bass weighing 6.92lbs. Fu won the Miscellaneous with a 5.99lb SNAKE HEAD . Can you say impressive Bass and fish caught on Thursday?

Summary: Big ups to all 14 SJHT anglers that came out on a typical work day. Nice showing fellas. There were some Big Bass caught. Some that broke anglers off, and even a massive Snake Head caught and disposed of. Water temps are pretty perfect for these spawning Bass. The NorthEast River once again puts us all to the test mentally, physically, and psychologically. 10 out of 14 Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. There were a total of 19 Bass caught overall giving way to a total of 55.44bs. The avg. weight of each Bass went 2.92lbs. Rob's Lunker proved to set the bar for the rest of the season going 6.20lbs. There were a total of 4 Limits caught. The Bass were healthy in girth but not necessarily long in length. Fishing during the week and specifically in Northeast River, MD is always quite the experience. One never knows what they'll catch. There were some crappies caught but the focus was definitely on the Largemouth Bass. Thank again to Brian and Rob for the additional photos and videos.
Next up is [b] SASSAFRAS RIVER, Georgetown MD in 3 Weeks.
Tightlines,
BN06

Hell of a job there Rob. Congrats. Did you catch any other keepers? Just wondering what your 5 fish limit would have been. |

Thanks Troop! Those were my only 3 keepers. I made a huge mistake staying on my first spot for way too long with nothing to show for it. Luckily, the learning experience didnt hurt me. |

Thanks Den, way to produce Rob, I ran into the buzzsaw again, lol. Im just happy i made it back to the ramp, outboard was feeling lazy near the mouth of the susky and decided that 2000 rpms was fast enough. Long ride back to anchor at that speed. got lucky enough to hit my lunker in the head on one of my stops on the way back. Good luck to everyone at the sass, ill be up at candlewood lake culling 3lb smallies
