On Wednesday night April 18, 2018, I attended the monthly SJBCA 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting down at the 4th Ward Clubhouse... This was a Make-up date from our March 21st snow cancelled meeting.
Member Turnout was slightly below average as we had 11 Bass Clubs reps in attendance.

- Newton Creek Water Shed Association upcoming meeting Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at 6pm to be held at Cooper River Boat House. Lorraine Prince of the NCWSA is meeting with Maggie McCann of the Camden County Parks to talk about Park maintenance issues.
*Conowingo Dam: Joe Love (MD Fisheries Biologist) reached out to about 5 or so Bass Clubs that fish or hold Open Buddy Tourney's out of Glen Cove Marina in Darlington, MD. He requested suggestions on How it can be improved with additional resources (See Attachments) w/ suggestions from clubs asked to respond.
* D.O.D.- Philly Enquirer Reporter Kevin Riordan did a story on the Hidden Dangers in SJ waterways. Wanted stake holders/local's to provide input Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at D.O.D. Lake 2pm. In the interim, I reached out to Capt. Risher, Chris Smith, and Jason Heron. Law Enforcement arm of the Conservation Officers, NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, and the NJ Bureau of Land and Management. Larry Hajna at 609-984-1795 is the NJ Press Officer.
* Potomac River- Last weekend- 2 Anglers died leaving Mattawoben Creek as there Bass boat took on water and capsize. Both anglers were not wearing any PFD or life jackets.

- Sunset Lake Ramp is GARBAGE- No incline or drop off to get boat off trailer. Anglers must back all 4 tires in and use 4x4 wheel drive to get out. No access to the speedway\zoo area as water level\entry way doesn't allow for smooth access.

Audit Committee- 2018 committee to include: John Sullivan, Mike Riordan, and Robert Jack
* Conducted 2017 Audit and found no discrepancies
Scholarship Committee:
- MaryAnne Franchetta, Mike Riordan, and Me.
- Lewis stated that as of this meeting, we had only received 3 applicants. However as of Monday, April 23rd, we're now up to 11 Applicants. As the Deadline May 1st approaches, Lewis is confident that more will come in. Additional $100 Donation made by Mike Riordan to go towards the scholarship program.

Youth Fishing Activities:
* The Salem County Youth Outdoor Day held in August 2018 maybe ending its long time run as event Kayak\canoe sponsors are volunteering less and less. The Division of NJ Conservation Officers also state there concern as less things to do creates a bottleneck problem with certain area being more crowded than others.

* Guest Speaker- Chris Smith, Sr. Biologist, State of NJ Fish and Wildlife.
* Plan for annual barbecue/meeting at Parvin State Park on July 18. Vote on expenses.
*Final planning for the Annual Steven Steinmetz Buddy Bass Tournament on Union Lake to be held on June 17, 2018.
* Hold drawing among clubs who donated tackle towards the raffle at the Flea market for free dues for next year.
* Scholarship Applications are starting to be returned from potential candidates.
* When fishing in rough water\windy conditions, always remember to wear your PFD/Life jacket.
